No I don’t think its that either. A few of us tried to see if there was some sort of pattern but nothing really came across as an obvious cause.
According to the Code of Conduct English is the official language of the MSFS forums, must be used in all categories except for #multiplayer.
Maybe they should sync this AIRAC update with standard updates instead of doing them separately.
That was the situation in the beginning. But that way you’ll always be behind, since airac and sim/world updates don’t follow the same schedule.
I’m on Steam. No core files are ever modified on my end. If it doesn’t live in my community folder or required messing around with core files to work, I don’t do it.
I had to re-download the patch today, as well as with the last AIRAC data update.
Asobo need to start putting release notes into their updates that are not misleading and confusing. The failure to do so leads to confusion and just stuffs up every support channel on every update.
Had to redownload the 25GB too. Some dev has got two left hands.
I think this sim will also be remembered as the one with the most unexplicable features alongside the many great ones.
On a good note, the 25GB is coming down at full speed so it will be a matter of an hour or less
Steam or MS Store?
MS Store for me
I feel for the ones with slow connectivity or monthly data cap
No official response about this yet?
I’m also an MS Store user. If it were as simple as users who install the sim onto a second drive were the ones unaffected, you would think there were many more instances of this, even amongst the small fraction of users who actually use the forums.
Really painful. I thought I would take a leisurely flight to start the weekend. Start these processes early to midweek. The evening is wasted. Pffffff …
Would’ve of liked to see some game performance optimization instead…
Just a 1GB download for me… didn’t even have time to start coffee.
There is a famous saying in flying “Always expect the unexpected” . Problem is: despite me being all for updates and fixes, they have so far appeared at unexpected times. I was expecting one next week as advertised. OK so if we are going to have the long wait while one downloads and installs it would be much better if there was a timetable (there was) and as much notice as possible if there is to be anything outside that.
Early morning here in OZ. Just the 1GB for me too (steam edition).
Phew!!
Edit: For what it’s worth, I have MSFS on my second M.2 drive, not C: .
I think it’s likely the platform for distribution is nothing to do with it, now. Users of both have reported it working, and not working.
I just installed, only got the 1GiB update. Outside of addons in community folder nothing’s touched. That might play part if you get 1 or 25 GiB
Ok for what it’s worth I have the steam addition and I edited two core files (TBM ATC call sign and relevant TBM aircraft config file to match).
I did restart after the mods and it was fine but then several hours later (when the fix appeared) I had the 26GB update.
The thing is, the mod is still working and hasn’t been overwritten.
I only had to download the 1GB update, from the MS store. Are the ones that have to download the 25GB version on Steam perhaps?
