I still haven’t been offered this update I’m on 1.15.10. Was it something I said, maybe I offended someone at Microsoft
any ideas?
You could try the MS Store & check for updates. You might get it that way.

I’ve checked the MS store but it’s not appearing there. I think this was an in game update?
Try this to reset the windows store:
Press Win+R, enter “wsreset.exe” and press Enter.
This will just reset the internal cache of the store, will not delete anything relevant. Then the store might offer you an update.
Also make sure that is no Game Services update available that might be required to be installed first.
No, the update was via Windows Store (base game) and then package updates when starting the sim.
Make sure to completely shut the pc down and turn it back on. If you use sleep or hibernate, your PC will not get the update. Let me know if that is your issue.
Ok I’m getting somewhere. The store thinks I haven’t got the game installed but it just gives an error (something went wrong) when I try and install. So that’s why I’m not getting the update.
I have the same problem. tried everything. nothing works. uninstalled it, still get error.
Which error? It usually shows some error code, you need to be more precise.
Also if you have an error code it’s useful to use the forum search, and if that doesn’t bring anything, try use a search engine. In most cases there are others that faced the issue and maybe provided some solution.
It just says “something unexpected happened” and error code 0x80070424
So did you try to use the forum search with this error code? It provides some threads…
There are also loads of things on the internet in general about it. Mostly saying it’s a Windows Update error

I am having same issues, Windows Updates so now new updates, tried reinstalling Gaming Services, tried wsreset, nothing… Just shows Play option in store.
What happens if you simply launch it?
Are all other windows store updates installed? Which version of the Game Services do you have?

I tried again got an error 0x87E00005 I have gaming services 2.53.17003.0
I reads requires mandatory update and back to the store ![]()
I have hard restarted. Still looking.
I have the version too, still no luck updating.
So did a combination of the registry delete and the Power shell fix, wsreset, reboot, still nothing… no other update available both Windows or Store.
If you open the MSFS page in the Microsoft Store where it shows “Play”. Could you leave the window open for some time?
For me usually this triggers an automated download of the update.
Also sometimes pressing the three dots right to the Play button has an update item, not sure if that’s the case for you.
I believe the Windows Update component for your OS is broken. You can run the automatic Windows update repair: Troubleshooter for repairing Windows Update system files and settings - Microsoft Support
Or you can run an elevated (run as administrator) command prompt and try these commands: Fix Windows Update corruptions and installation failures - Windows Server | Microsoft Learn
If all else fails try manually updating to the latest Win10 Build 20H2: Download Windows 10
It doesn’t show Play it shows Install. I can’t even uninstall the game as it has disappeared from Apps.
