Since the first release of MSFS2020 I have never had a problem updating. Now I have to update every day to the same update 1.22.2.0. Every day I reinstall 1.22.2.0 and the next day I have to do it again.
I never have changed the default install or update patch path. Always used the default.
I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling MSFS2020.
I have tried repairing or “fixing the app”
I have made sure that the Community Folder is empty when updating
I have signed out of Xbox App and signed back in
I have signed out of the Microsoft Store and signed back in
I have tried the time syncing with the server
I have updated Win10 to the latest
I have updated NVIDIA driver to the latest
This was purchased via the Microsoft store for my PC, which a I9 with a Z490 motherboard with 32 gig or ram and a 3090-video card should be able to run without issues. Why does this have to be so dang hard. You shouldn’t need a doctorate degree just to use this Flight Simulator software.
I have been dealing with this issue since 1.22.2.0 has come out. Has anyone got a fix for this?
Well, I guess it’s time to hang up flying MSFS2020. Started up the game again, and what did it want me to do AGAIN??? Yup, that’s right! Wants me to update again after two hours of doing it every day for the past five days…this is just stupid.
I take it that either no one is having this problem or just hasn’t found a solution yet.
Well, it took almost 24 hours to reload 1.22.2.0. I dont truly know what happen that may have caused my issue. At this point, I have flown and a couple test flights. All in VR, and so far , so good. But I guess it remains to be seen if i run into the same issue @BngSkyPilot . Im weary to put any files back into my community folder, so I’ll keep fingers crossed for a few more days. Reading your post that states everything youve tried, makes me curious if youve sent a ticket to the zendesk to have those folks see if they can help ya.
Keep me posted. Sorry youre running into all this, I feel like i Need to be a ■■■■ computer expert to run this thing. Getting old.
Well, once again I came out to the hangar to load up my Sim, and what am I required to do again???
Re-install 1.22.2.0.
Not sure how to get to the zen desk to report @Sinister1970701 . But I am done. I have defended MSFS so much and now I am bit by MSFS crash your sim update.
I wonder if you contacted support if they would transfer your license over to another platform such as Steam to see if the game works any better for you that way.
also at the bottom of the release notes for each update has a web address I do believe, or just follow the support tab, and read through the examples they give, then youll know what team to reach out to.
Ok, today is a good day for the sim. Yesterday I received a new hard drive so that I could install the sim on another drive other than C. I once again completely uninstalled the flight simulator and this time installed it onto my D drive and PRESTO! no mandatory re-install of 1.22.2.0 this morning!! Lets hope this is the last of it.
Well thats good to hear. This thing can be very frustrating, for sure. Thats odd that you had to bring in another hard drive to load the sim onto.
Well, happy flying. PM if you run into anything, as weve seemed to run into the same issues and our levels of frustration are about equal, LOL.
Happy Flying…
Just curious if anyone has had issues downloading and installing this update? It’s been downloading about 7 hours now, and the file size says 540.67mb. The download bar fills, and then restarts at zero and repeats over and over again. Seems to be the same file names as well, almost like it’s stuck in a continuous loop.
Me. I had that issue as well. Now i fresh installing but so far no rolling download and download speed greatly improved. Before it was 2.4Mbits/s and rolling. Now more like 80% -ish from my total available bandwith. My workaround:
All versions - Packages installation and decompressing issues - The download seems stuck on “big files” (google this)
From Xbox App, uninstall and reinstall to another bigger partition. It said need free space 2 times bigger than total amount you are downloading.
Install package location I selected another drive with more free space. You can try pointing to you current package location if still available. I sort of deleted my old ones due to frustration. Oh well…
