:warning: Reminder:

Experiencing a number of game freezes after the update to 1.4.12.0 - sometimes in mid flight and sometimes when trying to end the flight.

I’m on the “High” preset. I’ve been testing with live weather and time around KLAX and EGLL as they’re busy airports so exercising the system a bit. I’m running an i7-12700K with 64GB of memory and a 5070 Ti with 16GB of memory. Latest BIOS and drivers. GPU is not taxed at all running around 50-60% depending on the area. CPU is generally also in the 50% range but does spike randomly when changing view angles, etc, presumably due to some scenery loading in the distance. Also, still experiencing sound stutters which correlate to CPU spikes in some cores but they also seem to be random because flying in circuits around the airport and changing views / interior / exterior / etc will be fine most of the time but then the spikes / stutters will happen in the same areas which were fine on previous the pass etc. so nothing obvious about why the random core spikes & sound stutters or why the random freezes both during flight or when ending the flight.

EDIT: I wanted to add, I’m using the C172 (G1000) for my testing and flying at 2000’ on autopilot so I can maintain the same height easily while observing the scenery and game behavior.

So far I’m enjoying the new build, haven’t had any game crashes as of yet and performance seems to be somewhat better with the likes of the inibuilds a350, my only complaint which has been there throughout the su2 builds os that on runways there seems to be some
Green lighting effect on them regardless of which airport, it’s almost as if there’s grass bleed through in terms of the colour. Sim is certainly improving with each build so fair play to the team.

Just had 2 CTDs at the start of FlyInFriday just around the when the yellow start button should appear. Also my Plane was stuck inside the taxiway:

Switched to a differnt one, but same issue and CTD. After that, I just started in air over the airport and it went well from there.

Still issue with loading into flight from free flight menu. Just hoovering over the globe for minutes, with no network traffic.

Did you create a plan with the flight planner before you hit fly? I find it loads quickly if I just spawn somewhere at the airport but if create a plan and then spawn, loading can take forever and sometimes never load. Also once you get a no load, it will never load anymore until you restart the sim. This was really bad in the last build but I haven’t tested it enough in this new build. Also the simbrief mod is broken in this build.

I had my first complete reboot when I pressed ‘start flight’ in MSFS2024 (4070S). Ran Whocrashed through my logs, and found out that the culprit was nvlddmkm.sys ie. the kernel display driver for Windows. At the time I was using 572.83, but downgraded to 572.16 and haven’t had any issues since.

This works for me, for now, but overall I think Nvidia should get their head around and fix these drivers (572.XX).

Sorry to post that here but this needs immediate attention:

This bug must be fixed as soon as possible because it may lead to physical injuries with motion platforms!!!

The sim generates telemetry output in menus before starting the flights which leads to violent movement of motion platforms!!!

First time I got a chance to read that a special place was ion place for the Beta…

I reported a Crash To Desktop, about SU2 in another section: ( SU2 Using Cessna 208/PILATUS PC-12 in career mode got several CTD with Exception code: 0xc0000005 Fault offset: 0x000000000071d61a fs2024 beta su2 - Bug Reporting Hub / Crashes (CTDs) - Microsoft Flight Simulator Forums)

I never had the problem in the release version, I had the crash (consistently) in version 1.4.10.0 and in version 1.4.11.0.

Make me a favor, when publishing a beta, please add (maybe in a reference section at the top of the annoncement) all the links relevant (where to get the beta, where to report new problem, where to report satisfaction or insatisfaction)

Last but not least, thanks for this soft and the passion one can perceive in it… Keep the good fun going.

I’ve had 2 AMD Adrenaline (25.3.1) diver crashes so far in SU2 beta 1.4.12 (Win11, Steam)

Screen turned black after quite a while of flying, sound of FS24 was still present. Not sure if the games was actually still running. Windows didn’t crash, but had to force-close FS24

Think those crashes started with SU2 betas, but were rare so far.

Sent error report to AMD, for whatever that’s worth

I am experiencing constant AMD Driver Timeouts…

I went to the oldest driver for the 5070 Ti available (572.47) and thought all was good because I had the longest session in 1.4.12.0 to date while flying around KLAX - perhaps 45 minutes. However, during my final approach as I was about 500’ the game CTD.

I don’t know if this is a pre-cursor but sound was very good until about a minute before the CTD but then I started hearing multiple voices over the radio at the same time. That had cleared up before the CTD.

Went back to su1 today. Ctd and wierd bug where gone finally. Glad the rollback went smooth

Experienced 3 freeze with CTD during flight and zooming into airport for free flight today. GPU related. Never had this issue before 1.4.12.0

A weird thing that’s happening to me is a repetitive CTD when I fly (low) over Dolgellau or Machynlleth (Wales, Mach Loop area). Happened with F-35, Cessna 172, and Vulcan.

This is my current setup:
AMD 9800X3D
RTX 3070 8G
64G RAM

I am having smoother performance in 1.4.12.0, and I flew from WSSS to VHHH with performance close to that of FS2020. BUT, I did notice the ground objects were loaded-in very late, which might be related LOD settings. I flew another flight from VHHH to EGLL and the final few hundred feet became a stutter-fest, unflyable. I did get a message saying my GPU resources usage was too high, and most likely, VRAM usage climbed over what my GPU could offer.

I think it’s a good change, and I can definitely see better stability, but it’s still not enough for me to make FS2024 my daily sim.
