Patch installed, reserved space deleted, RC 16GB (default), all settings on default (medium, PG on, weather on, live traffic on, MP off). All streamed.

A320neo LEBB/LEPA

Performance: Bilbao being a handcrafted airport by Asobo, the usual stutterfest during preparation, taxi, and takeoff.

The photogrammetry of the area was quite poor, with many low-resolution polygons in a Minecraft style (or worse) and plenty of pop-ups. The stuttering disappears in flight.

Arrival, approach, and landing were without major problems, as it is a self-generated airport.

Stability: after vacated runway and trying to consult a chart to see where gate 50 is, the sim froze and ended with a CTD.

Tried the 737 from LA Guardiaand took it for a flight circling Manhattan using heading mode. Take off wasn’t too bad, a few minor stutters, reached 5000 ft and kept circling, lowering altitude as I went along. LOD pretty good, though PG was off. The lower I got, the skyline in the distance would slowly materlise but no stutters. A smooth approach and landing back at La Guardia and runway wasn’t fuzzy. Many planes queuing for take off so I pulled up behind them and next thing I hear is ATC, shouting “ you have not been cleared for take off. Guessing they were referring to me :joy:

Stutters on approach from 10000ft final to landing at KBWI with PMDG777 so am going to vote poor and go back to flying MSFS2020 again.

This build is still in a mess - both performance and stability wise - very very disappointing and nowhere near release standard. Some serious work required - the sim clearly has not been given the due care and attention it requires on Xbox.

Note - I put my RC back up to the recommended 32GB but can’t honestly see any differences between 8 and 32 in use… but at over 32GB I found aircraft systems were often failing to operate as they should…

Its a shame the 737 is still broken as it performs pretty well in the sim FPS-wise, and flies quite nicely. I tried it earlier and it still has the issue of needing about 80% thrust to get it to taxi. Pretty good once you get it going though.

Things are still quite stuttery at places like KHOU and KSAT while in the Longitude. Sometime soon I’ll try a different aircraft.

I tried loading into Zurich this morning in the A20N and did a quick taxi and takeoff. Stutters and freezes were still very much present, so voted poor once again. I was going to do a full flight tonight to see what it was like on final approach, but seeing the above comments, I don’t think I’ll bother wasting my time. This could be such a great SIM if the constant freezes and stutters could be minimised.

I know it was just my first flight but it had stutters both on the ground and in the air and the PG looked really pathetic. I’ll keep flying and trying different PG areas to see if that helps but it feels like we’ve gone all the way back to one of those pre SU3 builds with the way it pauses in mid air to draw something…something. I have to vote poor for now.

My experience is very much the same. Very disappointing, and far worse for me than previous builds. I’m only really testing GA aircraft in 2024 these days as I prefer 2020 for airline activities, but my testing last night with a variety of GA aircraft was pretty atrocious.

Big CHUNKY stutters and frame drops, far worse than I’ve seen in a long time, and beginning as soon as the flights were loaded. Sometimes they would settle down after flying for 10-15 minutes, but then they would start back up again usually after panning the camera in the cockpit. Some 1+ second hang-ups… Just not enjoyable. If this is with GA (COWS DA, Just Flight Pipers, A2A Comanche, etc.) which aren’t particularly resource-heavy aircraft, I wouldn’t even want to attempt anything larger/more complex… They really need to get this sorted-out.

The most “sad” part for me? As I was flying along, occasionally, I would get these glimpses of how good the sim COULD be. In between the horrific stutters/freezes, everything would be looking fantastic and running buttery smooth - Only to be abruptly pulled out of that bliss by a massive stutter. It’s so disheartening.

Here’s a 60 second video of stutters on the ground at Boeing after a short flight from Vancouver in the Longitude.

This is on Xbox Series X. Fresh restart of game and console just before the flight. 128gb rolling cache, nothing downloaded, everything streamed on solid 1gig fiber internet. The longer freeze I was almost certain it was going to CTD.

I was experiencing the same issues at KHOU, KSAT, and KFTW, both at origination and arrival. Was getting a bunch of micro-stutters in flight as well.

I’m happy for the folks that are having smooth flights on PC, but console still needs some work.

Here is an additional 60 seconds of the same taxi. The stutters and freezes were persistent.

This is exactly what I’m experiencing too. It’s absolutely brutal. Hit one of those stutters on short final? You’ll never want to shut your console down quicker… This build is just about unusable.

Those stutters are brutal, and with a 1Gb internet connection as well

When you say you have traffic on, what kind of traffic? AI or real world live? Just curious as you’re running a lot of things (PG, multiplayer, weather, traffic) which your internet would be able to handle in theory, but the servers might not be. And this is where the streaming everything idea becomes a very bad idea. With that said, all scenery was streamed on 2020 on Xbox so it shouldn’t be any different and yet it is

I’m joining everyone in echoing that the stutters on Xbox (Series X) are at times abysmal - but it heavily depends on the circumstances.

Flying the H125 over SFO results in a halfway stable sim with a few infrequent stutters using real time and weather. The surrounding scenery further away keeps reloading, which is slightly distracting but didn’t distract a lot from having fun.

Using the ini A340 however, which is known to be a moderately demanding aircraft, I experienced heavy and very long stutters - sometimes up to 10s of pause, once even right when rotating the aircraft. The scenery kept reloading aggressively, especially if an airport or airfiels was in the field of view.

The sim stabilised quite a bit as soon as we left cloudy LSZH behind and got back on its knees when passing over a thunderstorm over the Sardines. Live weather and airfield proximity seem to be performance bottlenecks on my system.

Real world live traffic was on, which in itself seemed bugged as well, but didn’t pay attention to it enough during my couple of flights today, at least not enough to document it.

And honestly, probably should turn off multiplayer since I almost never see anybody anyways, at least not in beta.

Nametags are restricted to 5 miles radius on the beta, not intentionally I believe. So unless you’re at the same airport, you’d never know they were there

I’ve only got a 70mb internet so I keep PG and traffic off. Multiplayer I get away with but only just and it can cause problems at busy airports but the beta isn’t exactly what I’d call busy at the best of times

In general though I only get freezes like those after long (4+ hour) flights in highly detailed areas

Doing a 3.5 hour flight over Africa at the moment in the A20N so will report back on that but it’s not exactly a demanding part of the world

DFFD to GMMN. 3.5 hours across African desert at night in the A20N and performance was fine between these 2 default, low detail airports. Maybe I’ll head back to Europe tomorrow

Ok, so I was just doing a night flight and noticed something. Earlier I mentioned micro stutters during flight, well, it seemed more prominent during the night flight, and what was happening was also more visible.

Not sure if I need to file a separate bug report or not, maybe one of the mods can help me with that, but this seems to be an Xbox issue. Anyways, here we go with my findings:

So as I was ascending out of KFTW I noticed the game would stutter every 15 seconds or so, and I noticed the ground lights going out around me.

So went to the external view to get a better look, and this is what I saw. Game would stutter, and then all of the lights would go out in a perfect radius around my aircraft. If you look closely, you can see the blackout ring moving with my aircraft.

And here’s a third video without panning as much.

Hopefully these videos help the devs out with what is going on.

Same parameters as my other post above, but after this happened I backed out to the main menu, went to my library and I disabled Enhanced Seasons by Bijan and also disabled the liveries for the Longitude. Wanted to try this vanilla. Loaded the flight back up and tried again, got the same results, so it wasn’t any additional add-ons.

As it stands right now, this version is just too buggy for me on Xbox, and I think I’ll need to take a break for a little bit.

Yeah it’s unloading and reloading of objects and textures that causes the freezes. I saw it recently during a day flight where, on approach, the trees on the approach path were constantly disappearing and then reappearing with a freeze every time they did it

Personally the only trouble I have is some micro stuttering throughout the whole flight in.
