[1.6.31.0] SU4 Beta Survey - Performance (Xbox)

That’s amazing. I think SU4 Stable will be coming soon!

So I’ve been in the air for a little over an hour and a half now on my way to Vegas from Fort Worth, and performance has been great, but one thing I’ve noticed is a noticeable lack in other air traffic in comparison with previous builds.

Haven’t changed my settings, am on “live,” have traffic on and set to medium, which is the highest level allowed on Xbox, and man, I’m seeing almost no other aircraft.

What’s also weird is sometimes I’ll see an occasional aircraft out my window, but they won’t be on my MFD. Other times I’ll see aircraft on the MFD but won’t see them out the window.

That really doesn’t have much to do with “performance” like they’re asking for in this thread, but I do hope they are able to fine tune that now that they are getting the performance dialed in.

As soon as I posted that, I finally see somebody. Granted, it’s not AI traffic, but it’s something.

Solid approach into Vegas. Happy to see some things, like the Sphere, aren’t exceeding bright and blinding anymore.

Did have some stutters on approach. I feel like it had to do with the vehicular traffic on the highway loop right before landing. As I approached it things got choppy. As soon as I passed it things got smooth. Maybe coincidence, maybe not.

Excellent flight from Heathrow to Nantes. Used efb to plan flight and accessed it during flight. Visibility into Nantes was near enough zero with deep fog. Yet again zero stutters and LOD was excellent, well, apart from when I hit the fog

32gb cache, still not resetted after 2 weeks

Efb use

ATC on

Everything medium, fauna off

I had a great flight last night in the A321 from Budapest to Birmingham, both third party airports. Approach into runway 15 always used to give me stutters and freezes, but this time it was smooth and stutter free all the way to the gate. Very impressed.

Another astonishing flight performance-wise for me

  1. Longest haul sector I’ve ever undertaken in MSFS2020 or 2024. EDDM -WSSS (edit - over 11 hour sector)
  2. aircraft I wouldn’t have even considered a few months ago - Inibuilds A359

Astonishing as there were no stutters throughout - none. A couple of minor judders pushing back at EDDM and taxiing to RW08R for an evening take off.
A few judders rolling out on WSSS RW02C after a very smooth ILS approach and touch down to a dry runway with thunderstorms in the distance to NW.
Taxi in was fairly smooth but I did get a few instances of “Sticky Mouse Syndrome” whilst operating overhead switches.
The A350 was a real joy to fly throughout
, smooth all the way, panning round flight deck never got choppy, all systems working and a very immersive sound set,- though for some reason the Navigraph chart update didn’t complete - hung at about 80% of download.

An astonishing result and I can see that I’ll be doing a few more long haulers with the Inibuilds A350 - it should get even better with a new update on the way but it definitely feels very good in this beta build…

It’s really so good that the A350 is working properly now. Most expensive thing I ever bought on the marketplace and up until this beta build has been unusable. There’s an update on the way for it too which will make performance even better.

I read a lot of positive comments, but here it keeps crashing and reloading constantly, landings are terrible, I tried uninstalling and reinstalling, but nothing seems to work. PG off, 32GB RC, MP3 off, real traffic and weather.

Another long hauler overnight.
EDDF - FACT.
Inibuilds A359
Another 11 hour flight with a night take-off from EDDF in IFR conditions.
Smooth climb out on the STAR with excellent scenery as we broke through the cloud tops. One of two small judders taxiing out to 07C but nothing immersion; breaking - good start.
And again flawless performance wise through cruise and ILs approach and landing to RW19. Final approach across the city was spectacular and detailed and the turbulence over the approach felt bumpy and very real.
Not one stutter to speak of, smooth landing and roll out and fluid taxi into gate.
“Sticky Mouse Syndrome” on last part of taxi in but nothing awful.
Another astonishingly brilliant flight with the Inibuilds A350..

Have you got a few more details about your set up and the flight setups you’re trying?

Took the A350 from LVFR LEMD to default HAAB. Roughly 7 hour flight time but was paused at TOD for a further 4 hours. Still performed well on approach and landing with no stutters. I did notice ground textures were a little bit worse for wear which is something I do notice with longer flights. Replay mode also had a drop in FPS that wasn’t present in the flight or when I used it yesterday. Overall still pretty good.

This is the best it’s ever been performing IMO. Please, team, don’t touch a thing (unless the further improvement button).

Have done two flights so far today, KPNS-KOKC and KOXR-KPSP. Both flights were buttery smooth without issue.

One thing I have noticed though is there is a severe lack of AI traffic today. I only saw one AI aircraft moving around at OKC, and I’m currently sitting on the Tarmac at Palm Springs and there isn’t a single AI aircraft moving around. No name tags, nothing. Just parked aircraft. Last time I was here (couple months ago) it seemed like AI traffic was constantly taking off and landing. Ghost town today.

I did see a couple real people flying around on this last flight though.

Yeah i had AI traffic turned off anyway because it does severely impact performance, I think the devs found out too😂

Probably will be added back in once it’s optimized.

Not one single stutter coming into Inibuilds Doha which considering I’m also using the A350 and have the inibuilds surrounding Doha scenery is just insane. Can safely say 2024 has passed certification. Just want SU4 to drop now so the skies are busier!

For giggles, I decided to check out the performance of this build in career mode. Did a VIP transport from Grand Forks to Fort Worth in the Longitude.

Everything actually went really smooth, with great performance on that side as well. No stutters or anything.

I’ll admit, I didn’t complete the flight though. Nothing was wrong, I just don’t like how the auto respond feature doesn’t work in career mode. I like being able to get up to cruise and be able to step outside for a smoke without having to worry about a missed radio call from ATC

Man, this last flight was an adventure. From KHWD to KSAN. Hopefully this gives some insight, this will be a longer post.

This video was taken during the ascent out of Hayward. As you can see on the MFD, multiple other aircraft are visible, however when I go to the external view and pan around, no other aircraft are visible (I have name plates turned on).

What’s amusing is about 5 minutes after I took this video, I got a TA from my TCAS about a plane directly in front of me. Never saw it outside the window though, only on the MFD.

A little further into my flight, I started seeing name plates. They were other live players, which is great to see. No live AI traffic though.

As I got over Los Angeles, I actually started seeing live AI traffic, but it would disappear as soon as it got close. At the very beginning of the video you’ll see an aircraft below me that quickly disappears. Then I have the plane directly in front of me, which I start getting TCAS RA’s for, but it also ends up disappearing.

Here is another example of the traffic disappearing. This plane actually made it under and little behind me before it finally disappeared into thin air.

Will start off by saying the visuals at the beginning of this video are amazing. The reflections of the sun off the water was beautiful. But you’ll see ScariestTiger’s nameplate start zipping forward. He was on the approach ahead of me, but there must’ve been some lag or something.

So I’ve been saying I haven’t hardly seen any AI traffic, then I started seeing some over Los Angeles, and funny enough, as I got to San Diego, there was almost too much. The last video is actually my second approach… ATC sent me around on my first approach because of traffic on the runway.

I went missed and went into a hold. That’s where I ran into another issue: I couldn’t get out of the hold with ATC. I had to cancel IFR, then request IFR again before I could finally get them to let me back into the pattern. Something needs to be worked out there.

And here is the landing, not my smoothest, sorry. Ironically enough, I was told to go around on this approach too, but I’m sorry, I just didn’t want to play that game again, I was ready to get on the ground. Give me a number to call. Oddly, I had some stutters on this landing, which I haven’t had yet in this build. Was cool to see ScariestTiger right in front of me though.

So earlier today (and at the beginning of this flight), I saw almost no AI traffic, but once I was on the ground at San Diego, I saw an abundance of AI traffic and a couple live players. Was happy to see it.

Not sure if the lack of AI traffic earlier was a server side issue that ending up resolving, or if it was geographically based as to where I was in the world.

Sorry for the long form post, but hopefully it’s helpful to the devs.

I think this is the best performing I’ve seen FS2024 to date. Perhaps the frame rate could be better, but I’ve virtually had no stutters, or blurry runways on touchdown. Still wary of using the Asobo efb. I just use it at the start of the flight to set the route, load and fuel, then turn it off. Not sure if it still affects performance or not

Same here, I’m still wary of using the efb but did a flight the other day and used it quite a bit and had no problems so I’m gonna give it another go tomorrow in my newly purchased inibuilds a340
