1.6.7.0 - Actual FPS Is Less Than Set Max Frame Rate

I have the limit set to 60, but in reality it cuts off almost half. Before the previous beta update, it worked normally.

The frame limiter appears to be completely broken.

As mentioned several times, it doesn’t maintain the target frame rate.
Furthermore, it’s no longer able to maintain the limit precisely, which destroys frame rate consistency. This results in a choppy image and, in contrast to SU3, is a massive immersion breaker.

Yes, it’s known to be broken in SU4 beta. The bug is logged; until they push out a fix and include it in the release notes, there’s nothing more to add.

Well, most people just report that it doesn’t work. But that’s not all; it’s completely broken and destroys frame times. Only a few people have pointed that out, and that’s important to know.

It wouldn’t be unusual if the bug made it into the release version anyway, but I’d like to be able to say (to myself) later that I at least tried to point it out to Asobo.

Seems to be fixed for me in 1.6.18.0. I can now set 40 FPS and get 40 FPS and it doesn’t alter when I change the nVidia Reflex setting. I’ll mark this as the answer when a few more users report it is resolved.

Thanks MS/Asobo!

I haven’t seen any other confirmation that it is now working for others, and nothing to the contrary, but it is working very well for me for the 6 or so flights I have done with it so I have gone ahead and marked my earlier post on this as the solution.

I’m also giving the all-clear. Everything’s working as usual again.
