ISSUE DESCRIPTION

Description of the issue:

Found that since 1.7.7.0 that a couple of rotary switches working TACAN selector are not functioning correctly.

When using the mouse wheel to rotate the rotary switches either left or right the appropriate counters reset to their starting position within 1 sec, rather than staying in their current position and the numbers increasing/decreasing.

FREQUENCY OF ISSUE

How often does this occur for you (Example: Just once, every time on sim load, intermittently)?

Every time since 1.7.7.0 was released.

REPRODUCTION STEPS

Please list clear steps you took in order to help our test team reproduce the same issue:

  1. Find an appropriate rotary switch ( I found one in Dave Garwood’s Hunter)

  2. Use mouse to try and set either the tens or units counter.

YOUR SETTINGS

If the issue still occurs with no mods and add-ons, please continue to report your issue. If not, please move this post to the User Support Hub.

What peripherals are you using:

[PC Only] Are you using Developer Mode or have you made any changes to it?

No

[PC Only] What GPU (Graphics Card) do you use?

N/A

[PC Only] What other relevant PC specs can you share?

Do not believe that it’s applicable.

MEDIA

Please add a screenshot or video of the issue occurring.

Worked perfectly up to and including 1.7.6.0 and I have since uninstalled/reinstalled and there has been no change.

The fact that it worked with 1.7.6.0 says that the cause is a code change in 1.7.7.0 . So far I have only found one instance but my guess is that other aircraft with old analog cockpits could well have this issue.

Once again to be clear. The two rotary knobs to set the channel have the issue. the other two for the TACAN, the mode rotary switch and the X/Y channel rotary switch (not shown in pic) work perfectly fine.

Moved to Sim Update 5 Beta | MSFS 2024 > External 3rd Party Products since related to a 3rd party aircraft.

I would agree if it is proved that it is a third party issue.

At the moment, I have found one aircraft with this issue and it happens to be a third party one, but there may well be more. It needs people to check all their aircraft, especially ones with what might be classed as analog cockpits, so that we can gauge the scope of this issue.

If you can replicate with 1st party aircraft then feel free to create a separate report in the Sim Update 5 Beta | MSFS 2024 > Aircraft & Systems .
Issues with 3rd party aircraft should be reported to the corresponding developers. They’ll investigate the issue on their side. If they determine root cause is coming from the core sim then they’ll report it to Asobo through the dedicated developers support forum they have access to.

I understand what you are saying.

However, I do not fly 1st party aircraft so that will not be done by me. Hence, the call for others to check their aircraft.

This is not me reporting a problem with a third party aircraft, this is me reporting an issue installed with the release of 1.7.7.0 and giving an explicit example. Nothing more.

I hope that maybe I have made things clearer.

The fix for this issue is expected in SU5 beta 1.7.9.0

Many thanks. I did see that post and wondered if it was linked to that. I hope so. Time will tell.

Should be fixed.
Continuing the discussion from Sim Update 5 Beta (1.7.9.0) Release Notes - March 3, 2026:

I can confirm that the issue that I report has been fixed.
