1 month! I'm impressed by this community! A small thank you

Well, there isn’t actually a lot to say but THANK YOU to those who spend their free time to create fixes, aircraft improvements, sceneries etc.

I have been flightsimming since the age of 13 or so, started with FS98 and I am truely impressed about how this community has grown for the last 20 years and the overall amount of work that has gone into our hobby without any financial compensation.

MSFS2020 is just exactly 1 month old today and there are tons of free addons, fixes and improvements available on many many websites created by people who want us to enjoy this beautiful simulator. I have just landed the (improved) VL-3 on a small airstrip in southern Germany which I have downloaded before. As installation of addons has never been easier in flight sim there is no pain in trying everything you can find and love it or let it go. This little UL airfield has been created within a couple of days and it’s as beautiful as it is in real life and what we get with these addons has a quality that matches or even exceeds the quality of some payware P3D airstrips.

So, I’d love to invite everyone on a beer or two but all I can say is a huge THANK YOU to all of you who contributed to this great experience and community

Hear hear :beers:

There’s some good folk working away in the background by themselves adding to this sim already, so I tip my hat to those that are improving it.

I agree, I flew the first “sim” on a Radio Shack TS 80, it was a little better than Pong. with each sim there was a learning curve. This one, no doubt is the most complex to date, and it will take maybe a couple of years to have it running at 99%. For us old hands, this is just part if the process. I have had a couple of problems, but each time the solution was found here and fairly quickly. Asobo is doing an amazing job and this community is their secret weapon for eventual success. We see a lot of problems documented here. But then we look at our screen at nearly every place in the world flying successfully all around us, literally a million people. So there are many more people flying with NO problems. An amazing feat for the developers. Kudos all.

Well said. The community is where this product matures.

The SDK in the hands of a vibrant, enthusiastic community, which is the key to the long-term success.

Awesome thread.
