100HRS Club!

Finally hit the 100HRS marker on a short flight from MYGF to KPBI in the 172 Steam.

The C152 went back into the hanger and now to goes the C172 Steam. I will spend the next 24HRS learning the G1000 in the 172 before jumping into the Carenado CT182T to learn a complex single.

I’ve learned so much but have only scratched the surface!

Thanks to everyone who continues to help along the way.

The G1000 is a never ending source of amusement for me, even had my pro pilot buddy come over and show me a few things. I use the Real Sim Gear G1000 so it’s a bit easier since it’s a matter of pushing buttons but at the end of the day you’ll discover all sorts of interesting items.

The G1000 is a pain to learn and use when you’re manually flying but it’s a really great and reliable tool with tons of functions and features once you’ve got the muscle memory and know the menus by heart. What Working Title have done with is is a real masterpiece compared to (almost) any previous flightsim avionic.

Congrats to the first 100hrs =)

I was slightly unsure whether your 100hrs were flying hours or update hours, but congrats all the same.

Right, I’m a little over 500 ‘official’ sim hours. Probably have the same ‘Dev Mode’ hours

Regardless, this is your thread. Congrats skypilotYTS!!!

Congratulations, pilot! :+1: I’m nearing 300 hours now myself, I feel home in the sky now and I get homesick when I can’t fly. :slightly_smiling_face: Here’s to many more hours above the clouds!

lol, 100 flight hours, no DEV mode.

I’ve done that so many times and had it taken away I don’t even look now!

Just finished first flight with the G1000.

I watched P Gatcomb and Kip On The Ground’s videos which were quite good / informative. Kip also keeps it updated with each release which is nice.

Everything went fairly smoothly aside from a pop out issue which there is a workaround for, and the procedures.

I think it’s more me not understanding the layout but once the approach, etc are loaded they were labeled / layed out in a more user friendly way on the GNS530 so I messed a few things up.

Also didn’t help I picked Tampa to fly into, maybe a less busier airport would have ben a better first flight.

Back to youtube to get the procedures sorted out and then off again!
