10900k+RTX 3080 landing @ LAX in 787 dreamliner with 8 FPS

This is a disaster,
any tips to improve the overall performance? like I got an average 50- 60 fps when in the air (in cockpit) but when doing approach in particular, fps drops significantly and remains a constant 7-9 fps.

update:
Since so many people thinking im lying, I just duplicated my flight this morning and took a few screenshots: i think these pictures explain better than I do.
All AI traffics(aircraft, vehicle diabled) due to avionics bug(blank screens)
Graphics settings most are high and some of them are ultra
Screen refresh rate is set to low
I also included a screenshot of my configuration, given that it is quite suspicious to own a 3080 now because there’s only a few of them.
Note that my display is only @ 1080p so no 2k or 4k settings

Have you tried it with no AI traffic?

I had to double take this thread.

You have an i9-10900k, one of the highest spec uP currently available, together with the brand new RTX 3080 installed, just released a few days ago, but most retailers still on pre-order, and you are saying you only get 8 FPS.

Is this for real? I feel your pain !!

I have i7-8700k (over clocked) plus GTX 1080 ti, and I get more than 7 FPS in ULTRA, although I now operate with HIGH on most settings.

Have you tried turning it on?

As expected. Until we get dx12, these high end systems are worthless. All that power going to waste due to ■■■■ dx11 api. #mainthreadlimited

Maybe it’s the result of the flight itself, it’s been reported before. Today I started with 40-50 fps (9900k/2080Ti) and ended up with a slideshow. Like there’s a memory leak or so.

Yeah I am curious what the ai traffic is set to also. That is the only thing I can think of that would cause something like this besides maybe bad drivers from Nvidia for FS2020 or something.

also when will people realize FPS and flight sims aren’t really a thing. This isn’t Call of Duty. Not saying you should be getting 8 fps… but someone not getting 60 or 70 fps is totally considered normal in a real flight sim, especially with this one which is not optimized at all.

Exactly. Maybe a result of what many are complaining that FPS degrades significately during long flights. Are the FPS similar if you takeoff at the same exact conditions as you landed? They should be close… 7 FPS is quite strange even with the highest setting possible with this PC config.

The OP is probably landing at LAX… hundreds of LIVE players, a custom airport with air traffic maxed out, and all ground traffic options maxed out. Is that correct?

You probably should upgrade your video card

mmm you should have wait for a 3090
you would have get 10 fps

not to be a dick but he has got to be lying. im on i9-9900K and 2080 super and getting 25-30 on final in cockpit

i take that back, could be due to lack of driver updates for new series so far??

3080 and 3090 drivers already available. But they don’t work if you don’t install them…

I have the same spec but with rtx 2060 instead of a 3080. I get 40-50 fps in air and around 30 near airports with almost everything on ultra in 1440p. But if I so much breathe around that render quality slider, my game goes Lego Flight Simulator with 7-8fps

I agree. This smells fishy. The only way he’s getting 7-8 fps with that setup is if he’s doing massive bitcoin mining at the same time.

CoherentGTDraw issue?

Go to developer mode, open the FPS counter and post a picture…

And the original poster has yet to reply to any of this.
Very suspicious!

Yeah I reckon it could be. Had that a couple of days ago. Went from 50 down to 10 coming into London Gatwick. My specs are high
I9-10920x
32gb ram
2 x Nvidia 2080ti in sli . However I had disabled sli just before the flight as sli not supported.

Just happened no reason but when I shut down fs I noticed that defender had just scanned the computer. Maybe just a coincidence but that’s all I can put it down to as not having any problems. One of the lucky ones I guess

it sounds like the CoherentGT bug problem. Check the forum, there are hundreds of people reporting the 10 FPS bug. It is so sad mate
