More often than not, returning to the main page from a flight takes between 10 and 30 seconds. I always feel 30 seconds or so is way to long. The second time I returned today - even without taking a flight, it took 15-16 minutes!
It happens to me and my brother quite often when we fly in a group (closed multiplayer). It takes anything from 5 to 15 minutes to exit the flight to the main menu. It only happens to the guest, not the creator of the session. Sometimes it is fine, but more often than not, we get this issue.
I doubted I was the only one. I don’t fly multiplayer though, and I did not even fly this time or the time immediately before when it took less than a minute to switch. I only went in and out to check my VR settings; it’s not though the software was needing to store lots of data, local or otherwise, were that to be a cause. Despite that, my suspicion is that it’s somehow an MS server choke.
Usually it takes mine 1.5min to 2.5 min. 5 to 15 would indicate something in the PC is hanging it up.
When I am done with a flight is there a hot key to just end the program. I don’t really want to waste time going back to main and the press esc to quit.
i use alt f4, standard default windows key for stopping programs.

After the 1st flight to start a second flight? You exit the sim and then enter it again to set up a new flight?
Rather something with the network and servers. In my case it happens of two vastly different computers across the world (Poland and South Korea). Both computers have very fast internet connections. My computer is pretty decent (rtx3080, 32gb, ryzen 5800x, NVMe 1TB SSD). Perhaps the sim is trying to synchronize the data.
