Runways too short : today’s “limited time” 737 Max VIP missions head to LOAV (longest runway: 939m). I’ll pass…
Nope, the highest grade I have gotten is A because of those reasons. I assumed it’s because I skip cruise and maybe that’s why I kept getting no more than 75% for ATC but I guess it’s a bug and I also never got higher than 84% in passenger satisfaction. But hey, at least it’s working lol. I can go back to medium cargo and get my S grade back in a few missions. I honestly don’t even enjoy flying the 737 because the sim kinda lags a bit when I’m flying it but the money is too good to stop lol.
Hi has anyone an idea why this isn´t working?
Im currently trying to do the Multi-Engine Rating. Somehow the engine that is suppossed to be turned of turns on again if I landed and reached a speed of about 70knots. I have to fly the DA62 at Madeira.
More than likely a binding conflict/controller issue. Do you have a single axis assigned to both engines?
nope I have the Thrustmaster Airbus set and I also do not even touch the lever of the turned of Engine.
You better do some searching the issue is with that controller. I cannot find the exact post. If I do, I will link it here, it is some kind of binding issue with switches on the throttle. Are both engines linked to any single command.
Maybe I dont think so but I can look I would be glad if you could post me the link you were talking about.
Oh yeah and happy New Year
I had to turn off the silver engine switch for the relevant engine.
I’m currently doing a career flight, but i can test this afterwards. Do you just have the default bindings for that plane assigned, or have you set up anything yourself?
Alas : bought a Grand Caravan to try longer cargo missions, got tempted by a well paid long-haul to LOSA, runway length seemed OK… But it is a lake ! I only realized on arrival, after a few hours (in sim… But I feel it is risky to press simrate + more than 3 or 4 times, so still it is quite some time investment).
I tried to divert to LOWS by requesting to land there by radio, as the scenario forced me to switch to VFR anyway in spite of the heavy fog but all the area was IFR only and no possibility to bypass. Finally chose to try to land in a field nearby, which I successfully did, but “mission failed”, of course…
Missions really need, at least, one built-in alternate destination, maybe with some financial penalty for using it ?.. (and I should examine more closely the flight plan before start !).
Had the same issue, with the same controller : engine was considered to be re-started at some point so the test systematically failed.
In the end I physically unplugged the “quadrant” controller, (I also have a slider on the joystick but I had removed the binding to throttle from the beginning, to avoid clashes).
I did not even use the F2-F3 keys to change the throttle, fearing some misinterpretation by the script… I only used the mouse to manipulate the only throttle lever I was allowed to, which was a bit acrobatic but enough to pass the test and go on.
Yes, it is a game, and one that is often dysfunctional. Despite that, many have already found it to be quite addictive.
it’s not just that there are strong winds, but on some of the missions the winds are preset well beyond the aircraft’s limitations, the effects of the winds can be heavily exaggerated, and getting an accurate idea of what winds you’re going to be dealing with on a mission can be quite difficult.
The irony is there are strick rules for tail winds landing an airliner.
Yet one user mentioned having income lost if sensibly landing into the wind, when told to land in the opposite direction.
The ability to land at any other airport and then return, even on another day, to get to your destination is what’s needed.
I couldn’t replicate it. The only binding clash i had was that the red button on the flightstick would not control my comms, and if held down for a second or so, it would power off both engines. The actual engine switches and both throttles had no conflicts at all.
Thanks for the help guys!
This is my solution:
Physiccally unplug the throttle lever you were using
ECU from the left Engine to Auto
Alternator left Engine of
Then you can turn the Engine starter off
Once that is done the Engine Autofeathers and you can complete the Mission
I just combined every off your steps,
Thanks

i’ve recently been playing with Settings → Language → Spoken Dialogue → whatever country i’m flying in. it’s quite immersive, at least as far as the mission dispatchers (and VIP guests) go. they’re slightly less annoying in a foreign language, for one.
however, there’s a glaring exception to this, which seriously makes we wonder if anyone at Asobo has ever played their own game.
Asobo is a French developer. if you set Spoken Dialogue to FR-fr, the ATC gives its instructions in unbelievably appalling broken French with a phonetic American accent, utterly butchering the pronounciation of every single word. it’s comical on one level, but really painful on another. I can’t imagine a French developer actually playing this and thinking it was even remotely acceptable (or even bearable).
it could be easily fixed by simply using the French text-to-speech voice which all the dispatchers use instead of the US English text-to-speech voice.
incroyable!
EDIT: it’s possible that if Interface Language is also set to French, a real French text-to-speech voice may be used by ATC. i’ve not tested this, however.
EDIT2: tested. changing the Interface Language makes no difference. Center/Radar ATC always uses the American english text-to-speech voice and pronounces whatever language is chosen for Spoken Dialogue using English phonetics.
remarquable!

This is not true, to be honest. You can choose any runway to land on, you simply have to do it via atc menu and don’t press enter because it can then switch to another runway on final.
What might have happened (as it happened to me previously) was that in their efb the runway selected was different to the one automatically selected using enter. Then they followed blue brackets and landed on the efb runway instead of the chosen one.
i did a mandatory C172 check up which detected flight control issues which i then repaired.
now, when i start a new mission and select the plane for transferal to the new airport, i get this:
note the amber bullet and “to maintain”, implying the plane requires servicing (even though service was just completed).
the maintenace screen shows:
last checkup (3 hours ago), mandatory checkup overdue (it says due 2 hours ago – however, the mandatory checkup was done 3 hours ago), and under delegated maintenance, it says, “to maintain”. however, maintenance is unselectable (and has no credit cost listed).
just Asobo things, i guess.
Tornado mission popped up over Texas today!
Some of these tornado visuals need some work, eek. That garish black debris cloud especially. But the funnel itself too. It’s a shame they can’t make it look like the volumetric effect they’re using on the clouds themselves.
Because it does look really dramatic and impressive from certain angles:
Make that debris cloud a brown volumetric cloud that shows in front of the funnel.
No rain, or lightning, and the skies looked like a shallow, stable layer of clouds, more like something you’d see in the morning on the cool side of the boundary, unlike what you’d see storm chasing later in the afternoon. Looks nice, but not quite right. I’m snob though. There is some wind on this mission, a southeasterly of about 15-20 knots, which is typical for a tornado chase. Although the wind doesn’t appear to change at all near the storm, which is kind of a bummer.
The last mission over Nebraska featured an intense updraft near the tornado. This one had intense downdrafts near the storm. I had the autopilot on enroute and saw it really struggling while the airspeed just bled off, and then I realized what was going on. It took me awhile to figure out because there’s no real visual cue. It seemed kind of randomly placed as there’s no rain or discernible structure to correlate with the downdraft. It was neat to see the added weather based challenge, however.
The funniest part of the mission was the end. I gear upped on the landing. Whoooops. Scraped the belly down the asphalt and then slid off the side. The mission objective changed to “Stop your aircraft”, but there was a grade in the terrain and the plane kept slowly sliding downhill, and all I could do was just sit there and wait for it to stop lol.
This apparently didn’t matter at all:
haha
