I bought it when it came out, bought one for Cargo and lo and behold there were zero missions for it! It earned a few passives for me but I had a good look at the maintenance costs and promptly sold it ![]()
Jolly nice plane to fly though.
Hello,
I passed the heavy freight certification without any problems, but I admit that the exam isn’t very realistic, like many others. It’s a shame that Microsoft created this mode with so little expertise and no maintenance.
Which plane is your go to long haul machine?
I can’t complete a flight longer than 4hrs in the 747 and looking for an alternative
How can you tell which planes will make the most passive income? Is it based purely on purchase price?
Heavy cargo certification is not playable with the thrustmaster throttle ![]()
Update
you have to go do a free flight in the default beluga to set the right throttle settings on the Inibuilds app on the aircraft
Completed it but it gave me a user error at the ending after getting the certification so I have to do again unfortunately ![]()
Pretty much. There is a percentage wear and tear added to the passive earnings which predicts how fast your aircraft will need maintaining. So eventually eats your passive earnings by at least a third.
Look at where the arrows stop, there is also an hold/stop line visable. Thus follow the arrows and stop there.
Looks like medium cargo missions have been broken on the ATC side.
I’m flying a mission in the Kodiak 100 with my cruise altitude of 18,000 ft. As soon as I reached the altitude the ATC instructed me to descend 15,000. I did it, then they told me to cancel IFR.
Seriously, what is wrong with these virtual ATCs? How can a simple IFR flight not work in Career? How is this still not brought to at least an adequate level 1,5 years after release?
I’m no expert at career, but I learned quickly to just turn off IFR. If you turn off IFR you won’t get criticized for not doing what it normally would tell you to do. Just fly the pink line and get there!
Hi folks - if you want night missions here is the link.
I ended up selling all my old vintage aircraft and now have a modernized fleet because I finally picked up a cessn408 sky courier
(why buying a fleet of old aircraft is important in fs2024) this is why we need the CRJ 200 ![]()
The crazy thing is I might acquire more vintage aircraft again so I can sell it all when I hit the maximum capacity for buying old aircraft and buy something even bigger than the 408 ![]()
Well, it looks like the ATC doesn’t want to bother with it anymore either.
Prior to SU5, this “descend 15,000 & cancel IFR” instruction arrived when I had to start descending anyway, closing in on the approach. Now it arrives as soon as I reach cruise altitude.
For my next mission I will set the cruise to 15,000 so I won’t have to descend back. Then, when the ATC asks me to continue VFR, I’ll just climb to whatever altitude I want.
Last night I didn’t even had any ATC handovers anymore, so I didn’t have to communicate with ATC at all for the whole duration.
Today I was flying the crummy Beechcraft 58 and it tried to send me to 20,000 feet. I didn’t try but I kind of doubt that plane would even go that high…
Isn’t that only the pressurised Black Sq one?
1St party one is a bit dodgy to go that high. I can’t recall, is that one pressurised?
The economics of that need working out. It will take you far longer to buy another 408 if you keep buying “vintage” aircraft.
If you don’t mind how long it takes then it of course doesn’t matter. ![]()
