2024 - I need help please understanding the Control settings page

This was deadset simple in 2020 but for the life of me I can’t get my head around the Control Profiles settings. I’ve spent at least a couple of days mapping and remapping my inputs. I’m about to cry.
I have a Logi Yoke and pedals along with 2 generic USB joystick boards.
I’ll restart the game and remapped controls on my quadrant will go back to original and the USB board switches from both USB boards will be operated by one board’s switches. Eg switch 1 will also operate the other board’s switch 1 event.
I’ll map a switch and it’ll want to create a new profile. At one point I noticed I had about 5 profiles for the one device. I’m just not getting it.

Please help !

I have made some videos about setting up the honeycomb bravo. Not your yoke, but maybe you find some hints in the video for your setup. Maybe worth a try. MSFS 2024 - A320 - Honeycomb Bravo Settings

For help understanding what my observations were (with keyboard bindings in my case) see this post. It’s the same duplucate thing you are encountering by the sounds of things though as it’s the same controller system duplicating profiles.

I never did figure our the logic of why the program does this.
I finally did the following and it works.

  1. Make each preset the Device name by duplicating each Preset and give it a new name, the device name.

  2. If it displays the message to create a new Preset, type the above Preset name .

  3. When you exit, the program saves all changes made to any Preset and remembers the Presets displayed when starting again.

  4. Make sure these Preset names are displayed when you Save and Back.

I use these 3 Presets for all Aircraft.
So, it is like FS2020.

I think I have worked out that it’s an issue with having multiple devices with the same name.
My 2nd USB Generic Joystick device regularly loses its profile selection, especially every time the game starts. I have to go and select its profile and hit save.
I’m also losing the 747 livery each time too. It keeps reverting back to an all white jet.
