2024 still a disappointment!

Agree, even FS9 was able to provide radar vectors. I remember in FSX there were VFR aircraft at every airport flying around and interacting with ATC.

The FAA phraseology and 18.000 ft transition altitude is a direct copy from FSX and has not seen any improvement since.

Ships are equally borked, the randomly placed yachts in small lakes without sea access is unrealistic. The rest of them are beached, clipping into docks or spawning on top of eachother.

99% of the time with live weather there seems to be no atmosphere. Yes there are clouds, but no haze or other atmospheric effects, visibility is unlimited with a clear horizon line. This is almost never the case in real life. Clouds have not seen improvement.

The humidity slider is completely gone in FS24, leaving no control of visibility. Not that the visibility slider in FS20 gave precise control over visibility or RVR (you know, a basic feature you would expect from a simulator), but now there is no control at all.

New content being locked behind career mode, I simply don’t have the time or motivation for the grind. Neither is the progression realistic and it is very bugged. Complete mess when it comes to units of measurments in career mode.

On my system there seem to be an improvement in performance (although SU4 makes FSR FG unuseable in combination with DLSS).

I hope they will focus more on realism going forward, improve core features and finally fix some of the aircraft.

Less console game, more simulator.

If you have no interest in extra 3rd party content, why buy the Aviator edition, which is the one that costs 200$? Pretty much all the extra planes in that are 3rd party

Anyone else notice that the MSFS 2024 promo art on here, the game cover, reddit page etc. still features the Red Bull air racing, yet we’re 10 months past the release & it’s still not in the game.. like other things featured in the trailers from about 18 months ago.

I agree! In the long run the core simmers are the ones that will keep this alive and willing to spend significant money on the game itself, addons, etc. They need to keep that in mind and make sure the core simmers don’t get cold …

Er…actually it IS the console users who drive this thing forward as they have to purchase through the Marketplace.

Since they make up around forty percent of users, proportionally they fund the further development of the sim more than any other group.

They are the ‘core simmers’. Without their funding development would not be going as far or as fast as it does.

No, they are all first party.

unfortunately 24 still lacks night light color variety (compared to 2020) you’ll get a few green and reds every now and then but it sticks out like a sore thumb.

performance for me, even with the SU4B isn’t much better. still getting massive stutters after 3+ attempts of reinstalling the game/community folder and it’s starting to feel like they will never fix it…

Really have a great time with the sim.

So no disappointment for me.

Should be fixed in the New su4 beta build

I did not buy Aviator Edition.
$200 was for Premium, Aviator is $300 AUD.

Easy to confuse as USD is often considered world standard and Aviator Ed was $200 USD.

MSFS2024 is still a ‘Mystery Bag’.

You don’t know until you buy it. I haven’t.

I don’t think there are any mysteries about it… everything about MSFS 2024 has been out in the open through months of dev updates, Q&As, and beta testing.

The ‘Mystery’ is “Will it work OK on my rig?

GPU Anxiety.

12700k, 32gigs DDR5, rtx4070ti Super, 1440p.

SU4 is going to make a substantial difference to performance.

It works and runs OK (probably because I have no interest in career modes and all that frippery). But I find I don’t fly it much at all. Because I can’t save my flights. So I can’t do round the world trips.

You can use OBS Studio, external recording software

Hopefully Asobo watches this video:

This is still one of the items on my wishlist, unanswered as far as I know by the devs, to save the last flight and at the very least continue exactly from where I left off with complete state saving.

If they would say that it is not possible in the air, then I would accept that. I never saved a real flight in the air either. On occasion I would have to land and rest up at a motel etc. But in almost all cases my aircraft was exactly where I had left it, with the same fuel load she had when I stopped the IO-540-K5.

Yet in the sim that still seems to be impossible.

Agree. A great shame. Turns out I had used it too much to get a refund, but I don’t fly 2024 anymore. If I can’t save my flights my around the world flights are ruined. I don’t get the feeling of continuity somehow….
