  1. Did you remove all your community mods/add-ons? If yes, are you still experiencing the issue?

Yes.

  1. ICAO, coordinates (DevMode > Debug > Display position), or specific location:
    49.282960, -123.106784

  2. Description of the issue:

Vancouver, BC scenery is low detail, blobby, full of distortions and artifacts and there are LUDICROUSLY huge trees larger than skyscrapers all over the city. The Helijet helicopter landing pad is marked as a helipad and is underwater. The [ Vancouver Harbour Flight Centre, Canada’s largest seaplane port by flight volume and one of the most beautiful seaplane aerodromes in the world is still just a few jumbled polygons sunken under water.

Maybe I didn’t get the very best resolution data from less than ideal internet connection, but I flew around a while and it didn’t get better. Whereas in say, Manhatten, NY, buildings got pretty crisp and much nicer in a few minutes of flying around.

This is SO disappointing and inexcusable. Vancouver in many ways GOT WORSE with WU XI Canada, the fixes/improvements in WU XV did little to correct the mess that WU XI Canada was for Vancouver, and I swear what I’m seeing in MSFS 2024 is worse than EVER, especially the BEYOND IMPOSSIBLE mountain sized trees.

:white_check_mark: FREQUENCY OF ISSUE

How often does this occur for you? (Example: Just once, every time on sim load, intermittently)

Everytime I’ve flown around downtown Vancouver, BC. Admittedly, that’s just been a few times since MSFS2024 became available.

:white_check_mark: REPRODUCTION STEPS

Please list clear steps you took in order to help our test team reproduce the same issue.

:white_check_mark: MEDIA

If Asobo can’t be bothered to even look and remove 1000ft tall trees littering Vancouver, I can’t waste my time waiting two hours to get into the sim to make a screen shot of this disaster. I’ve given up all hope Asobo will ever care AT ALL about making the Vancouver, BC area, one of Canada’s most beautiful cities, AN ABSOLUTE GEM of Canadian aviation and seaplane aviation in particular be anything but an absolute disaster.

It’s confirmed that it’s hot garbage.

Weird. Just flew over downtown today, took a few laps around the city at low altitude in the vision jet then under the Lions gate bridge to YVR.

I didn’t see any giant trees like that. Wonder what the difference is that triggers them.

It is truly the worst it has ever been lol. I flew around there today, it looks melted and massive trees.

Did a 2nd flight around downtown and this time the 200m tall trees were painfully obvious.

Not sure if they weren’t there or I just didn’t notice the first time

Well, at least the CO2 problem is solved now

I haven’t explored any of the settings related to scenery quality or settings? Perhaps those could help? I’ve only been using my 4070 laptop since starting 2024. I have to admit, it’s pretty amazing how well it runs in general on this, admittedly pretty high end laptop!

But thing is, other cities look fine at whatever settings 2024 set up for me by default!!!

And there’s simply NO EXCUSE EVER for deciduous trees ever showing up that are taller than the tallest redwoods on the planet, and in the middle of a major metro downtown area towering over and colliding with skyscapers??

I don’t know why Asobo/Microsoft have never given a hoot about making Vancouver what it should be. It’s a real unique and gorgeous gem of an area for aviation, especially seaplanes!!! But Asobo just can’t be bothered and even it’s “improvements” in the Canada world update and now 2024 have both come with terrible worsening affects they never have addressed and I have no hope they will any time soon if ever. Especially, despite many people replying to confirm my assessment, this post has only gotten 5 votes, so, I suspect making Vancouver not a disaster will stay a VERY low priority for Asobo/MS. They should fix this quickly out of sheer embarrassment! And basic quality control!

Curious how they goofed this given it’s streaming from the same Bing map data in 2020?

I agree it is ridiculous. Not to excuse MS/Asobo or take the pressure off them to fix it, but the tall Vancouver trees is one of the myriad of MSFS2024 issues that Bijan’s Enhanced Seasons addon fixes. He is a miracle worker, pure and simple.

This looks fixed in 2024 SU 1 beta. From the release notes it sound like a bug where they popped up in broken scenery.

Actually it is worse in Beta. That are many more in there now. (without my mod):

They fix this in the latest release build?

I haven’t checked! Too afraid to! I really doubt it’s fixed! But some kind of tree fix/update was mentioned in the last dev livestream and I think they said that would be in Sim Update 2 when it released to the public and I think they said they thought that would happen in April?
