2024 Vision Jet aircraft manual?

Any thoughts on why the FD would display VMIN and set autothrottle to max thrust seconds before I land? It just did that to me, forcing three go-arounds. I turned off the FD completely, set the BARO minimums to well below the altitude of the runway, tried setting the FD to APR mode, etc. I tried lots of things, but I could only land if I manually pushed my throttle all the way in and back out again to override the autothrottle each time it came on. It made for a pretty rough landing.

The worst part is, this happened to me trying to land RWY 19 at LZHA. It’s a very tricky final, steep and low over some hills and a very short runway. Career mode won’t let you change your landing runway, but IRL I definitely would have. I’m not even sure a Vision Jet is a good idea to fly into that airport.

That’s a bug I think. MINSPD (which is the annunciation IRL) is part of the elevator underspeed protection system (USP), which is normally inhibited when the autopilot is off.

Thanks @RISCfuture for all your insights into the real aircraft!

Your YouTube channel and your participation in this thread have been invaluable for us fans of the SF50 that are not real pilots!

Just wanted to express my gratitude on behalf of the community!

Hi, please what are your rules of thumb for going from flaps 50 to 100 on a stabilized ILS approach at Vref to Vref+10? Just landed with a moderate quartering crosswind and held off on full flaps, but needed to add a lot of power so thinking I didn’t wait long enough to drop all the boards. Thanks for any tips!

The “Cirrus Approach” calls for flaps 50 and 140 knots when at the IAF inbound, and flaps 100 and VREF+10 at the FAF. Of course, in the real world (as in, not in Cirrus’s fantasy world), ATC would be pulling out their hair if you slowed to 140 knots 15 miles away from the airport. So generally we fly clean at 200 knots until we get to a few miles from the FAF. The airplane slows down very nicely.

Kinda sounds like full flaps over the threshold, thanks!

The 2024 version (MS) is fully based on the 2020 version (FFX). It has been updated though.

I have found that the ‘free’ version supplied in MSFS 2024 is virtually unfliable in VR as most controls don’t work correctly. if at all. When might the ffx version for 2024 be available for purchase?? Meantime I happily fly my vision jet in 2020

I have the FFX version for MSFS 2020 and I fly the “free” version in MSFS 2024. I do not have any major problems with the “free” version as it is not a complete new product but a continuation of the MSFS 2020 version (made by FFX) E.g. Safe landing now works most of the time and all controls work the same (only the TOGA is on a different spot).

I have the FFX version for 2020 but in the 2024 My Library section it shows Not Creator Approved. From reading this forum it appears to be supported. Can I enable it despite the warning?

You can try It by enabling It. Or (better) use the free Vision Jet in MSFS 2024 that offers more options.

In the 2024 Vision Jet I’ve noticed an external visual oddity ONLY apparent at a specific zoom setting. It’s different to the normal LOD issues. When the undercarriage is clearly UP sometimes the external view displays a left undercarriage leg down. Any closer or further away and it goes away. Presumably a bug?

Thanks. Just curious what additional options does the MSFS version offer over the FFX version.

Yes I logged this as a user identified Bug Report. You can participate there to provide your feedback.

This video will be of use to folks who want to fly the jet more closely to real-life operations. The author Stretch (N300DG) is one of our real-world Owner/Operators on the beta test team who helped build the FFX version and is an experienced pilot. Here he takes the MS-Asobo version around the block.

What I sometimes use: autoland. It lands the plane at the next airfield. Also present in the real Vision when e.g. the pilot passed out and the passenger can safely land the plane on the ground at the next airfield.

I believe you have to to disable the AP first end thee press the big red button at the ceiling on the cockpit. There are a few video’s on YouTube about this subject.

I can also recommend the YouTube video’s from “ Kip on the Ground” called Fly the Vision Jet on YouTube.

Superb post. Thanks

I found this very helpful to learn the plane!

Has anyone successfully mapped the Vision Jets relevant dash startup switches/ buttons etc to a Honeycomb Alpha / Bravo setup? I have successfully mapped a few, some managed to cross over from other setups as suggested by RMAG.

Cannot for the life of me work out the correct key bindings for-

  • ‘Master Oxygen Switch’ On/Off &
  • ‘Air Supply Source’ that changes fresh to bleed on dash.

The cold dark setups from RISCfuture and Kip on the ground have been incredibly informative for flying these aircraft, thank you!

I’d love to find a way to map the checklist wheel scroll/click but haven’t found a way yet. I didn’t bother trying the oxygen buttons because they’re pretty much a one time use.
