Yes many people thought the 3090 was the “Ampere” Titan card but I think that belief has changed and the Titan will come out as it’s own card.
It makes sense because if they add a few more cuda cores and shove 48GB of RAM on it they could basically charge what they like… Can’t see Nvidia passing that up
There were some benchmarks submitted to publicly accessible sites, which did indicate cards with stupidly large amounts of VRAM, the assumption being these were submitted by Nvidia themselves using silicon they have yet to unveil.
We must agree to disagree then about the masks. Where I live there are 35 degrees Celcius in summer and 80-90% humidity and I really had difficulties breathing wearing a mask. So that is that.
Camping all night for a chance (not guarantee) to buy a $1500 GPU. What has become of people these days? Apparently, Nvidia knows the answer because they managed to get people to do just that.
Nvidia is not shy about what the 3090 is. They’ve said it themselves it’s not for everyone, they know the performance per dollar is bad. They basically said this card is for people want the absolute best and the bragging rights. It’s not for people with common sense :).
I think as a “budget Titan” it’s more like a prosumer-lite type card. Linus Tech Tips pointed out that it doesn’t have all of the Titan capabilities enabled even.
Definitely the way the 30xx are positioning, its a wait-and-see for us.
Can you imagine those who OVERPAID a ridiculous amount of money for one of the affected versions? I would say I feel sorry for them but nah, not really.
Or people who bought them to flip em and with this news, I’m pretty sure the demand for the the Zotacs/Gigabytes. I hope these cards get avoided like a plague and these people have to eat up a loss.
You won’t stop them bragging. When the 3090 turns out to be an expensively stupid choice, the come back will be – so what, I’m a ______ and I make so much money, I can afford to just toss it and get something else
