Really loving this. Just flew south California coast in spring, it’s gorgeous! Indeed I can’t see a difference in fps in VR. I thought I did but then I tried same location and same conditions without the plug-in and it was just the same. Anyway, have you thought of doing the fioritura in castelluccio (Italy): http://www.bellaumbria.net/en/the-flowering-castelluccio-di-norcia/ ? Would be awesome and it’s a very scenic but also underestimated area.

I live not far from Castelluccio, and yes, that would be a great improvement! Early summer is awesome there.

Trees everywhere - as far as the eye can see. Can’t believe the improvement that it’s made in the scenery. Even better, I’ve seen no discernible hit on FPS in VR either (I’m driving a G2 with an i7 9700 & rtx2080ti … so running things pretty hard)
And best of all - finally we have foliage that is the proper color! - no more of that dull jade green of the original!

Has World Update 4 (v1.15.7.0) fixed the tree LOD problem with Seasons mod??

Nope, looks like Tree LOD is still hard-locked.
Default, Seaons Mod and other 3rd party tree LOD mods all same visual results.

Microsoft claim one of the fixes is “Fixed reduction of tree display distance that was caused by smaller tree sizes” but so far as I can see there’s no change.
It’s difficult to be sure as they also appear to have changed how the zoom function works, I can’t seem to zoom in as far as I could before.
Still, the 4 Season Pack still works fine so thats a bonus I suppose. And cities such as Paris are still swamped with far too many trees.
It’s obvious they lied. Seems to me that the LOD has been reduced even further! I can see out 2 or 3 nms now what a joke!
Hmmm, that’s not good. I have yet to try it out since the installation process failed for second time.
Seb indicated in the Q&A the main issue- the LOD was directly related to the size of the trees. They had to reduce the size of a lot of the trees, which really shrunk the rendering distance. So they essentially went and doubled that, so it should render twice as far as before
It actually seems like they reduced the size of the trees even further. I’m not getting a larger LOD however, sure seems the LOD has been reduced even further. Exactly the opposite of what they said would happen during the Q&A

Very conflicting reports so far.
Some say it’s better some say it’s worse.
I’ll report back as soon as I have it up and running.

For me It’s way better now. I see trees to the horizon - with and without the mod.

So the mod is ok with the udate, just downloading update now, wont have time to fly…work tomorrow
