Hi bijan, just bought this product.

I see there is an auto season button. To my knowledge it looks at my physical location and date and gives the live season to install for me. How is the .exe getting my location? If I move to another physical location I can just run auto season again?

Hi
Thank you first.

It gets the season by looking at the date on your computer. So if you have April selected in your computer date, it will install Spring. It’s not by location. Hope this clears it up

When Summer comes, it will automatically remove spring and installs summer.

Automatically meaning the next time i open the .exe file?

It should change it without running it.

The app does autostart with autoseason on. As far as I know , it reads the offset from UTC out of Windows, to start the season depending on your local time.

hello Bijan,

with the last update (4.63) it is necessary to modify the cfg.exe to have high LOD trees?
because with LOD set to 200 in sim I have only few miles of distance?
thx

It’s not necessary. As displayed in the map I posted, LOD redius depends on location. Some location gives you better lod than others. 200 usually should give you good enough lod all around.
If you only fly within the red areas and you have a PC that can handle higher lod, it might be a good idea to go higher since the performance is much better with the latest version.

Where is this app? On Sim Market I download a Zip with folders for each season, 4.63.

It’s not an app, it’s an addon. Just drop one season folder (I recommend ‘Spring’) into your community folder. Don’t put all 4 folders into the Community folder. Use one season at a time. It will be read in automatically to the sim when you next start it up.

You might also want to set your Tree Density (in MSFS 2020’s Options) to the max, just to see how your PC fares. I have a very modest i7 (now 2 years old) with 16GB Ram and a GTX 1080 and I run this addon at max (200) without any complaints. See how you get on.

To automate this you can use the app.

Thanks for the info. I always just use the manual method (as simple as moving a single folder in and out of the Community folder), so I can’t say I’ve use the automated method.

Yes, I agree.
Letting the app decide on the season based on where you live doesn’t really make much sense. The ony way to guarantee an accurate choice of season is to do it yourself.

I would like to see some user screenshots from the latest version (4.63) with your LOD set to 200, your tree setting set to Ultra, and taken from an altitude of 3-5000 ft. If anyone would be kind enough to post a few shots it would be appreciated.

LOD doesn’t behave the same in all areas. So this comparison won’t be useful. The closer you are to equator, LOD gets better and the closer you are to the poles, it gets worse.

I’ll be more specific: anywhere in the U.S.A. (the green area on your map) will do. :slightly_smiling_face:

Added Yellow Gorse Bushes in Northern England/Scotland. Apparently these are common in the area and they flower in bright yellow/orange between January and June with its peak in April and May.
(Request by Thorsten in Scotland)
These will be included in next update.
