If you buy them in the market place how do you enable or disable a season?
I’m glad I bought my copy from simmarket so I can easily enable or disable seasons using add ons linker.
I just did this, SimMarket and manage with Addon Linker. Looking forward to flying after work
@JailhouseFrog Yes it will be more expensive on marketplace.
@SatinySafe5153 Just copy one season folder in your community folder. Save the 3 other folders in your document folder. If you want to switch seasons, copy another one and take the old one out of community folder.
@bijanstudio but if you buy it in the marketplace it doesn’t go in community folder it goes in official folder I think, at least that is what I see for other things I bought in the marketplace.
It would seem fairly obvious that if you buy seasons as stand-alone packs through the Marketplace, then you would install and uninstall them through the Content Manager like you would anything else.
ps I really don’t get this reluctance to buy through SimMarket
Sorry, Yes, it’s correct, it will install in official folder. You can control that from Content Manager. Just make sure you only have one season installed.
yeah, I guess, but it seems more convenient to manage with add ons linker than having to install and uninstall from content manager.
This is why this mod through the Marketplace is a TERRIBLE idea. Sorry. More expensive, less complete, and more difficult to manage versus using Addon Linker.
Having it in the marketplace will make it possible for xbox users to get it so that is a good thing, but I’m glad I got my copy through simmarket just due to the nature of this mod. It is nice to just be able to turn them on and off with add ons linker while keeping the files in one location outside of community folder.
because i dont want to have to remember where everything ive bought is
lets say i reformat my computer, gotta remember to download this thing from here, this thing from here, etcetc. It’s annoying
Hi there - I’ve been using Microsoft Flight Simulator since it launched, and consistently get 60 fps and overall fantastic performance on ULTRA setting under most conditions. However, right after purchasing and installing your add-on, the sim is unplayable. Freezes for minutes at a time, then starts up, then freezes again. The flora doesn’t change as the months get switched, and it’s unplayable until I uninstall your mod, at which time the game returns to performing normally. Is there some back-end folder/file manipulation or file settings a user has to perform? Thanks!
EDIT - to be clear, I purchased your product from the in-game marketplace. I realize most users here have been incorporating your mod by installing it elsewhere.
I mean sure if your system dies its going to be work to get everything back as it was, but hopefully that is not a common thing. If you are already downloading lots of free mods from flightsim.to like I am it seems perfectly reasonable to buy things and manage them the same way I manage free things. If I was really worried about having to reformat then I’d probably get a big drive to back files up to on a regular basis.
If you are not already downloading lots of free things from flightsim.to you are missing out on a lot of great stuff.
Can you please check where it installed the season folder? Did it replace the “vegetation” folder?
I have already contacted the team about it to see if it interfere with the “vegetation” folder that’s already in official folder.
If it didn’t replace it, I would remove the official “vegetation” folder.
The season mod does not affect performance at all so you shouldn’t see any decrease.
I’ll try that, thanks! For the record, what you’ve accomplished is incredible. I believe you that the mod itself may not be affecting performance, but something about the way the content is being incorporated might be causing issues. Appreciate your responsiveness, with me and everyone else here. Glad to be supporting what you do!
You should make sure you only have one season at a time installed to the sim. It doesn’t change automatically and more than one file will likely cause problems such as you are having.
As posted above install/uninstall through Content Manager.
Just making sure you’re not doing this in the sim month setting as it has no effect on seasons.
They have the description wrong and they will fix it. It’s actually Spring in North and Fall in south hemisphere.
The MSFS marketplace sells both seasons as one content package ‘Spring/Fall,’ and they can’t be installed independently of each other using the MSFS manager. I don’t have developer mode turned on by default, and I’m not usually diving into the program folders for MSFS - I purchased through the Microsoft store and not Steam. I don’t even know where the ‘vegetation’ folder would be located. I’m an amateur with mods. So I guess my question is - should non-mod enthusiasts like me even bother downloading content like this until we educate ourselves on how to manipulate these files outside of the simulator’s interface? I’ve been downloading add-on content for this sim for almost a year, and this is the first time I’ve been required to dive through my windows folders to make the content operate properly.
Like I said before, what you’re doing here is incredible and really gets at what I love about this product, but I just want to understand if there are technical steps necessary that should be provided to anyone purchasing this straight from the sim’s Marketplace?
Thank you.
I think you missed my second post, They have the description wrong and they will fix it. It’s actually ONE season: Spring in North and Fall in south hemisphere.
I am waiting to hear back the team to find out how it installs it and if it is conflicting with “vegetation” folder in official folder.
This is the first time my product is being sold in marketplace and it’s all new to me. As soon as I hear back I will keep you posted.
You do know how to move folder in Windows I suppose:
Buy on Sim Market, move ONE folder in there (whichever season you want). If you want to switch season. Move it into the Community folder and delete the other one.
To me - regardless of how it would work with the Marketplace version - it is soooo much easier. Literally takes 10 seconds.
I am flying to Oregon and will not be able to respond to any questions for few hours. I will respond later tonight.
Thank you all.
