This is getting worse. ATC does this way too much. Climb to a nonsensical flight level just before landing. The real grating thing is that over and over and over… “Please expedite your climb to flight level two zero zero”. Over and over until final approach. So annoying.

Well, at least I haven’t missed anything. I was starting to wonder if this had been fixed, since all I ever fly is VFR. Although I think the FAA might have something to say about me flying the TBM at FL200 without IFR clearance…
Yep. I had it with MS ATC. MS AI ATC has no concept of what the fuel burn coat is for those orders.
For me the solution was Pilot2ATC. Well worth the investment. Added much more realism.
And personally, I would rather have the devs focus on the bug fixes, study aircraft and aircraft modeling.
New issue for me is.
Descend to 5000ft (perfect) but then
Climb to 6000ft then seconds later
Descend to 5000ft
Repeat multiple times until I switch it off

I get the problem the opposite way. Yesterday I took off from KORD for a flight to KEWR. Right after takeoff ATC kept barking at me to descend to 8000ft. Every 2 minutes they would tell me to expedite my descent to 8000ft. I had reached my cruising altitude of FL360. About a third of the way I decided I would try and use the menu system and request a new cruising altitude. I asked for FL380 which they granted. That actually fixed the problem of them barking at me to descend to 8000ft. My last 6 flights the ATC was messing up in this manner. I have no idea why it happens. And it’s a pain to have to correct the issue the way I had to. But at least it worked.
I am guessing, since I get similar issues leaving Class B & C airports, ATC has us on some sort of a Departure Procedure… even if VFR.
I have used the altitude request a number of times, but occasionally it - ATC - gets stuck with trying to get a C172 to FL24.
There have been a number of threads requesting some form of a pilot response ‘Unable’. Hopefully, that could be used to reset ATC.

Ridiculous. It happens to me in the A320 every flight. I don’t listen to ATC. (until it is fixed)
I’ve always used Pilot2ATC but thought I’d give the in built one another go as I thought issues were fixed.
i’m bizzy with the land at 500 different airports achievement , and it’s only at certain airports , had it 2 times so far. last one 15 miles out and if i could go from 1500 feet to 17000 feet. i ignored it till i got switched to the tower.

I had a hell of a time with the A320 AP yesterday. Wouldn’t follow the path correctly, performed sharp turns, approached waypoints at a 45 degree angle and kept me at FL130 until I was 5nm out from the airport. Painful.
