Today I decided and changed my 7900XT to a 4080…what can I say…if someone tells I would not believe…all of my issues solved and I have a better more stable fps with the Nvidia card.
I had the below issues with 7900XT which been resolved immediately by changing to Nvidia:
- Radeon driver crashed when opened Navigraph Charts in a browser when MSFS was running
- Workaround for prev.issue was to use DX12, but with the Radeon card there was a scenery artifact under Dx12
- Radeon was much more noisy
- The FPS was fluctuating much more, with Nvidia it is stable 50 (100Hz, 50%).
Yes, the 4080 is about 300CHF more expensive, but I am sure I would have same stability with 4070ti which is same price category with the 7900XT.
I am a bit sad, because the 7900XT is really a powerful card on a very attractive price level, but my one week experience shows the driver ruins the whole experience as of now.
Sorry AMD, we may can try again in 3-4 years time.
