I think they are the same monitor! the resolution and aspect ratio are the same, they are both “WQHD” monitors.
I also use the LG 48 C1 for MSFS. I know you said it’s to large for your desk. You could also look into a monitor arm to mount it on. Another benefit is it has the built in apps like Netflix and YouTube. Great TV and Gaming monitor…best of both worlds…

one says WQHD (older one) and the newer one says UWQHD. I am not sure what the difference is

On my Sony it means ultra…the only thing ultra Ive seen on mine is one more res above the 3840x2160 resolution.
I bought a LG 38GN950 and I absolutely love it.
Mostly I fly MSFS in VR Reverb G2 but for both gaming and work the monitor is perfect.
Maybe a little pricy but i got it on Christmas sale.

My 4K TV is 3840 x 2160
which is the standard
I have the Acer Predator 32" 4k IPS 144hz HDMI 2.1 monitor. I’m happy with it, the 32" size alone was a welcomed step up from my previous 27" 2K monitor, just right, not too big as i like to sit about 2 feet away from the monitor. The 4K sure stands out. Not a huge difference from 2K but noticeable. It has basic HDR and I actually like it on, 450nits of brightness, yeah there is better but I’m happy with this. It has speakers that I don’t use, but good to know. It has USB pass thru and one of the outlets puts out 65 watts. The color accuracy is accurate and MSFS sure looks sweet on it💖

Thank you everyone. The Alienware 38 became available on DELL site. I purchased it for 1199$. I have it running now and am quite happy with it.

Was thinking about getting the 38GN950. You still think its a good monitor for MSFS2020? Got a 3080 12GB.
Yes i am so satisfied with the monitor.
However I mostly fly MSFS in Vr but play a lot of other games on the monitor.
And MSFS looks fantastic on monitor too, getting 35-60fps totally smooth with all settings on ultra with 3080 10GB.

I ditched my 4k monitor and went with the Samsung Odyssey G9. Monitor looks like a monster on my desk but with its HDR, wider “real estate”, you’ll find yourself never looking back with MSFS. It may be 2K, but its basically two monitors without a seam in the middle.
With other games, it is a bit odd only on the sides. For instance, if you play Doom Eternal, the side look stretched out, but honestly if your focusing forward you wont notice that stretch. You will notice something is there, but on a standard 16:9 monitor you might not.
For me though, in MSFS, its been awesome. To be able to see the entirety of the front cockpit display and a little bit out the side windows makes it more realistic and immersive for me.

Hey I am also planning in getting the Odyssey G9 monitor. Do you also use addon planes like the fenix or pmdg if yes what fps are you getting?
