4K tv gets blurry during/after flight?

I’m using a 4K tv (60hz) with my PC. After flying, or sometime during, things suddenly get… fuzzy.

It’s easily reset by changing to 30hz then back to 60, or just leaving it, but it inevitably gets blurry again after I run certain software. The problem here is that mouse position is off by a bit after the change.

Specs are: Asus Tuf 570-Pro | Ryzen 7 5800X Vermeer 3.8GHz 8-Core AM4 | NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 TUF Gaming V2 LHR Overclocked Triple-Fan 10GB GDDR6X PCIe 4.0 | Ballistix Gaming 32GB DDR4-3200 PC4-25600 CL16 | 980 SSD 500GB M.2 NVMe Interface PCIe 3.0 x4 | SuperNOVA 850 GA 850 Watt 80 Plus Gold ATX Fully Modular Power Supply | Lancool II Tempered Glass eATX Full Tower Computer Case | NH-D15 Brown CPU Cooler

Any ideas what I might look for?

thanks

There are several ways to “sync” your video card with your monitor with settings in both the video card driver and MSFS. I would recommend playing with them as you might have a conflicting setting.

My monitor & AMD video card both support freesync but at the end of the day, disabling that and turning on vsync within the sim gets me smooth sim performance. Also, I’ve found that running your monitor at its default refresh rate typically will provide the best performance.

I know your set up is a little different with an Nvidia card but swap freesync with g-sync and you have a similar situation.

Thanks - the TV is running at 60hz, and it doesn’t have any way to adjust this internally as far as I can tell. I can change it through settings on the PC.

As noted, when it gets fuzzy, if I change the refresh rate it gets clear again. I’ll have to experiment to see if FS is changing it, or if it’s just doing it on its own.

That’s probably because it is drifting out of sync and when you manually change it goes back into sync. Again, look at your sync parameters within the sim (called vsync) and the Nvidia driver. Since I don’t have an Nvidia card, I can’t help much in configuring it. There are many threads within this forum which discuss how to set these for maximum performance.
