Exactly, just look at those pictures. Not a single FS2024 screenshot so far had me look twice to figure out whether it is real or not. I don’t think clouds are the main reason so maybe off topic here. I think the lighting is just infinitely better in XP.

Try Active Sky. That does a better job than sim default, and can make the skies look very realistic.
It’s those often half translucent clouds that are the worst IMHO.

Volcanic eruption near PANC today. I didnt knew that msfs 2024 could simulate volcanic ash clouds so well.

It’s crazy how a small, passionate modder like that can give an entire experienced team a run for their money. But the thing is, it has absolutely nothing to do with real-world weather.

i heard this before , but how is that ? you cannot code which CB cloud meteo blue to emulate and inject into sim ?

No, but it’s not that simple—there are several sections in different zones, and you have to code the transitions between them. Real-time updates, I think, aren’t as easy as creating a static weather showcase.

the main process of live remaining the same just change the 3d model of what is actual in use and thats it .

I tuned into today’s live dev stream hoping that they would provide updates on weather improvements and per the norm, I left completely disappointed. They couldn’t answer anything except a new ‘visual’ of upwind drafts that Seb spoke on. Clearly I’m not alone as the entire chat seemed quite frustrated that MSFS 2024 has nothing on the roadmap in terms of improving live weather, cloud depiction, storms, etc.
Such a shame.

I agree, there is just zero acknowledgement that there is even an issue. Seb says that the weather & Thunderstorm depiction is great in Preset mode and you can set clouds to look however you would like….so there you go
