Anybody using a 55”+ TV for their sim? Currently on a 3800x1600 38” monitor and looking to upgrade. Curious what the performance hit would be like. Current resolution isn’t too far off 4K.
In any event, which TVs would you recommend?
Not quite 55", but I am using a 48" LG C3 4K OLED as my main monitor on my desk. 120hz, variable refresh rate, low lag. It is majestic. 4K Ultra with maxxed LOD on a 7800X3D/4090 combo, I see 50 - 60ish fps without frame generation, which is plenty enough for FS.
With a head tracker (I use TrackIR) it’s not quite as good as VR, but it’s the next best thing. (Which is nice, considering the state that 2024 VR is in. But even in 2020, I played more in 2D with head tracking than I did in VR with my Oculus.)
At the distance I sit, I’m happy that I didn’t go with the 42" that I was originally planning on buying, but I know that 55" would be too big for some of the other stuff that i play.
