737 Trim Wheel Sensitivity is Way Too High By Default

ISSUE DESCRIPTION

Description of the issue:

Trim wheel is too sensitive. Had to modify the extremity dead zone just to (kind of) fix it. Changing that setting makes it a little better but does not fix it. This causes issues when AP is engaged and make the plane nose rock up and down very dramatically. For those of us that use sim rate increase it makes the plane uncontrollable upon taking the sim rate back to normal. You can also recreate the issue by setting auto pilot and setting altitude hold and increasing sim rate and you’ll see it start doing it.

If applicable, which aircraft is experiencing this:

Boeing 737

FREQUENCY OF ISSUE

All the time.

REPRODUCTION STEPS

Please list clear steps you took in order to help our test team reproduce the same issue:

  1. Use Trim Wheel
  2. Set ALT Hold via Auto Pilot
  3. Let the plane fly
  4. It rocks like crazy. Look at the trim wheel and how much it moves when ALT hold is set.

same problem here with and without autopilot

Same problem, trim wheel speed is completely unrealistic

very hard to train with trim that makes you crash as soon as you touch it. any updates on this?

I haven’t found anything about this. I think the trim wheel and the weight & balance are issues. Every time I set the fuel and payload in the efb, the aircraft’s actual weight never matches what’s displayed in the efb. Plus when setting the trim with these mismatched weights, it either lifts off too soon or you have a lot of difficult lifting off. Then you try to correct with trim and then the aircraft’s pitch becomes on controllable with the autopilot even having difficulty.

Yes I thinks the same, and in the FMC > Settings the weight and balance displayed are different than in EFB, don’t know what to trust
