The 747-8 pitches down when I fly at an airspeed below 170 knots and it is very irritating when landing. I have asked on some discord servers if anyone else has had this problem but no one really has, I have looked everywhere for a solution but I haven’t found any. Has anyone got a solution?
First thing to check is your settings. Make sure these are covered before investigating further:
- Check to make sure you have an empty community folder.
- Flight model is set to Modern. Don’t use Legacy.
- Turn off all assists or set to Hard/True to Life.
- AI Copilot Control is turned off.
- Add Deadzones to all your primary flight control axis X,Y,Z. At least 5-10% should be enough.
Afterwards, what’s your cockpit instruments setup? Are you on autopilot, auto-throttle? A recording would be useful to have us see the exact thing that’s happening to you.
Too little info. What’s your weight and flap setting when this happens?
The 747 will start to pitch down when the speed reaches the amber band on the speed tape.
it doesn’t matter what I have, the plane will do that anyways. I can put nothing on and the plane will do the same
Again, depending on weight and flap setting, this behavior is correct.
sorry if I don’t explain well, I have recorded a video showing it but fs forums says “nEw UsErS cAn’t UpLoAd FiLeS” btw can you tell me where the amber band is, I am very knew to flight simming.
You probably can‘t upload a video here anyway, as it‘s way too large. You‘ll need to use youtube.
DRoP tHaT passive aggression please.
On the left side of the PFD where the speed is being indicated, you will notice a thin amber band which indication the low speed protection area, below that the black/red stall area, when you are too slow (or more precisely the angle of attack is too high)
You need to stay clear of the amber band to keep full pitch control.
I see it now. Thanks for the help, I really appreciate it
