AMD has announced they are going to focus on the mid range. Their goal is to gain market share there first, which will eventually fund development for higher end cards later on. It’s too soon to tell exactly what the next generation will bring, but I wouldn’t hold breath that the next top tier AMD card will come close to the 4090. The 4090 is a completely overkill card for most people even today. I wouldn’t be surprised if the next top tier is only slightly better than a 7900xtx, but with a benefit of a price reduction and more energy efficient, and maybe better ray tracing (which I could take or leave it).
