There are two things I learned long ago about computers, don’t mess with the registry or BIOS unless you want to risk major grief or know exactly what you are doing. Unfortunately, the percentage of people, including myself, who know how to safely mess with the bios is very low. Occasionally, HP or Dell will inform me that they will be updating the BIOS on my computers and I cringe, knowing that if their download and update has a glitch, I’m in deep doodoo.
