Thank You to CroppingPoem113 for starting this discussion and the many here who contributed ideas to address my laptop’s 97C CPU and 91C GPU readings. Being ignorant of the running temps prior to this thread, I suspect the life of this laptop was being shortened. I suspect running for hours at the throttle down temp limit can’t be good.
Today, I started digging into the laptop to learn what I need to disassemble to re-paste. Note that my laptop was perfectly clean from my opening it recently to upgrade the RAM. Wrong! Under a fan shroud/cover and some electrical tape was a ball of crud wedged hidden between each clean fan and clean cooling fins/radiator.
The CPU and GPU now run MSFS about 10C and 17C cooler respectively.
