A Flight over The Olympic Peninsula in the T6 Texan

We’ll start and end our trip today from Kimshan Ranch (WN00), a small grass airstrip nestled between Quilcene Bay and the Buckhorn Wilderness:

OK, off we go! - we head out over the bay, with the Cascade Mountains to our east:

Heading inland, there a numerous river valleys that you can take into the heart of Olymoic National Park:

Climbing the peaks:

The shoreline along the coast is part of the Olympic Coast National Marine Sanctuary:

Heading back into the mountains:

I like the way the sun reflects off the snow on the trees:

Back over Quilcene Bay:

On final to Kimshan Ranch:

And the route I took, should you care to follow in my flight-steps…

Enjoy! :slightly_smiling_face:

Thank you!

But wait: is that LittleNavMap? How did you get it to work in MSFS2024? I thought it wasn’t possible .

Yes - this is LittleNavMap v3.0.12. It partially works in 2024 on my PC:

  • It cannot find the 2024 scenery library (it’s online, I guess).
  • In the logbook, many departure and destination airport idents are given as map coordinates, and the aircraft model name often has odd text like “AtcFakeType” or “ATCCOM.ATC_NAME_CIRRUS.0.text”.
  • It also cannot read MSFS 2024 flight plans.
  • There are probably other things that are not working that I’ve not encountered so far.

My understanding is that the developer is working with help from Microsoft to provide a 2024-compatible version.
