A.I. Traffic: Does it work?

So I’ve got A.I. Traffic on and maxed-out in the settings and I also switched on Live Traffic, and I have 100% all ground clutter such as planes, vehicles, etc. I was hoping to see at least fairly busy airports (in terms of arrivals and departures). I see plenty of planes on the ground at airports (especially the bigger airports) but planes coming in and out? Nope. The closest I’ve got to seeing A.I. traffic are a few distant lights in the sky - but they never land! Funny thing is that ATC never shuts up about arrivals and departures.

What am I doing wrong?

It’s the game, not you. I would’ve thought AI traffic would’ve been finished at release for a flight sim game but nope ha I’m sure they’ll be working on it though

I tested on 10 airpots ± (Some big some GA), with AI traffic (offline). Slider to 90% airliners and GA.
I’ve never saw aircraft landing / departing , not even moving on the ground.
Hope they fix it soon.

Thanks for the confirmations - I couldn’t work out why I haven’t seen any A.I. planes (at all) arriving or departing, even at the bigger international airports. A.I. traffic definitely needs to go quite high on that list of ‘to do’ things at Asobo. Airports feel quite dead without it.

If I do spot any A.I. arrivals or departures I’ll update this post. I live in hope.

The same here. Very disappointing to not be abble to see any traffic in the airport.

This is working for me. The first time I noticed it I was worried my plane would have contact with them but I just pass right through them. The plane was taking off on the runway when I was landing. I have yet to see any planes being taxied though.

I’ve seen taxi’s and departures at PDX and SEA.

This morning I was at Bangkok International and finally saw some A.I. plane activity. Three large airliners taxied to the main runway and started taking off. It’s in there, but I really think that unless you’re at one of the big international hubs the chances of seeing A.I. flights is extremely rare.

AI seems to be in a far worse state then FSX or P3D and sadly it’s not the only feature that does not work properly, some important features completely removed.

After logging 5 hrs I still have yet to see the first flying/moving AI plane. But I almost got T-boned by a fuel bowser hammering down the parallel TWY after vacating 26L at Bracket Field Los Angeles with my Savage Cub.

i see some planes…not sure if they are realtime or delayed… but im sure its like 1% of actual traffic in the area i tested. so i would say it doesnt work as it should

Hung about in Heathrow today, doing circuits in the Cub, just keeping an eye on the airport below for any signs of life. Was there around 15-20mins. A.I. Traffic Offline set to max - the eternal optimist.

Not one peep from the A.I. No arrivals, no departures, no taxiing… nothing. Dead as a Norwegian Blue.

It looks lovely. But a zombie airport - allegedly one of the busiest in the world. Allegedly.

Another bug they have to fix. Offline A.I. doesn’t work. Reallife traffic works at 1% of its real density.

They will never land, might as well turn traffic off and get some extra FPS cause this game rough to play smooth

Maybe they are fewer AI aircrafts as there are fewer realtime aircrafts due covid19?

I am focusing specifically on offline Traffic A.I. I have made sure live A.I. Traffic is switched off in the options. If any of the A.I. Traffic should work right now, one would expect it to be the offline option.

Popped over to Dubai International this morning and loitered, just to see if things were any better there than at Heathrow. Remember, my settings are, for the purposes of the test, live traffic off, no MP connection, offline A.I. Traffic to the max.

Nope. Again, Dubai as quiet as a grave.

Ive witnessed few land even as im on final approach there was an ai flight approaching the center runway at KORD as i was approaching the right runway. An ai plane had landed at jfk right before me but it didnt exit the runway on time. However it should be heavier traffic. I know they havent released the entire ai function as flightaware schedule on the map in the main menu isnt available yet. I believe asobo is holding it until they see everyone’s pc performance is handling the sim as is, just my guess

Maybe they were affected by 28 days later and 28 weeks later

Yes, I have seen it suggested that offline A.I. Traffic has been (at least partially?) implemented in US airports. I will start testing that suggestion today, contrasting what I find with non-US airports.

I haven’t seen anything recently. Seems like the system is currently overloaded, because things like weather isn’t functioning properly at the moment either.
