Today I have uninstalled MSFS 24. I attempted a refund but regretfully that was rejected. Largely because I gave MSFS24 a fair shot but ultimately concluded that it is just not a very good game/simulator in its current state. I am therefore starting a sabbatical away from MSFS as a game/sim, but since Asobo/Microsoft now have my money regardless, I might as well check back in, in a few months time. I have been a regular member of this forum, but again wanted to say bye for now. I just don’t have the energy to deal with the repeated setbacks, poor quality and constant regressions. I hope one day this sim makes the standard, but in all honesty I am still grateful for the experience so far as it has taught me to NEVER pre order ever again.
I, certainly, of late, have changed my stance on pre-ordering games, due to a host of disappointments from many titles. In future I’ll only buy into something after release dependent on feedback.
I’m sure this sim will mature, but it’s going to take a great deal of time, clearly.
Alas, it seems that, increasingly, developers are willing to risk their reputations and their “standing” with their audience/consumers with promises that it’ll all be right in the end.
What they need to understand is that reputation is â– â– â– â– â– â– hard to build back again once lost.
Yeah pre ordering is hardly ever a good idea, especially as nothing stops you from ordering on the day when you see what the reaction is from other gamers/simmers. I haven’t uninstalled MSFS2024, but I am at the moment not really running it as I feel that 2020 is better at the moment.
I can really understand the frustration Asobo caused not for the first time. But the launch and current state of MSFS2024 with all the bugs not being fixed is more a disaster. I really find this a kind of unrespect towards the community, supporting Asobo in the past with the difficulties of MSFS2020, to launch MSFS2024 not being usable for me at the moment. Maybe in a few months…..
It’s just a shame how MS/Asobo have disappointed so may people. If they would have only approached the 2024 release as a beta I believe it would have set expectations better and people would not be so put off. Hopefully these customers will return when things stabilize.
MSFS 2020 is still working and where I’ve been spending my time as I don’t want to get frustrated with 2024.
I posted on another thread that was leaving 2024 for 6 months. I run 2020 well and have had many years of best times in 2020 and am thankful to Asobo and MS for what they have done. My pc runs 2020 well on high ultra but had problems with 8gb in 2024 I didn’t see in Alpha I did. I spent £200.00 for sim and then few days back £450.00 on good deal for AMD 16gb card which made huge difference in 2024 . I have fibre Internet that works amazingly well and no issues on any other game. However I have tried make 2024 work but it just doesn’t so many issues I’m tired of it and it’s ruining my love of flying trying make it work. I spend many hours everyday using 2020 etc and it’s a huge part of my time, studying, etc as could never be a pilot which is all I wanted as child but was born with visual issue that carnt be fixed. I wanted this sim to work more than anyone but I’m not going to ruin my love for flying and simming to try and make this software work. I want to thank people who persevere with and help fix the bugs in time but I had enough getting angry about it. I’m truly sorry for all parties involved this situation isn’t what I expected to happen in the slightest. A lot of people are entitled to be unhappy and annoyed with situation I am one of the them. I use and enjoy 2020 the way I have last few years. I thought ina month it would have made some progress but I very dissatisfied with lack of info and how Asobo/MS have not given any feedback apart from one poor call. I know for many ppl it’s a minor hobby some would call game/sim whatever but for a lot of people like me its the only way they get to enjoy the thing they really love due to never having opportunity etc in RL. I’m just sad and tired with 2024 fighting it everyday when you supposed to be enjoying yourself. At some point Asobo/MS will need face simple fact the sim doesn’t work for many people with more adequate PCs etc and either their core tech in 2024 just doesn’t work reliably etc I don’t honestly care they need sort it out. Just sad all around
I too was rejected for a refund, so I tried to get msfs 2024 to work. Made some setting changes, tried to sort out the controllers. Then update 1.27 or something came along which in turn undid all my changes. I flipped and once again asked for a refund. I GOT MY REFUND… Thank you Microsoft/Xbox. I now have uninstalled FS2024 and am happy using my MSFS 2020.
All I can say is Happy Days.
This reminds me why I stuck with MS2020 and did not even think about preordering MS2024 in the first place. Looks like it might be a while before I even consider 2024 with all of the frustrations.
I think this would be a good approach as I do believe MS/Asobo will eventually iron out the main issues. MSFS 2024 has many positives that will allow it to surpass 2020 but until it’s really ready let’s continue to enjoy 2020.
