A plea for Asobo to start doing something about the performance

First of all, by no means I mean to disrespect the developers, but After the UK update performance has been on a spiral dive per update. I also feel that I have a pretty good pc to run the sim: Ryzen 3900x, 32gb ram, 3080 ti etc… But I mean…30fps with 800x600 resolution and with custom settings not even running all ultra. The only way I can achieve 45+ fps is setting everything to potato quality.

Im just too tired of trying out clean installs and empty community folders safe mode startups etc.

So…Dear developers, could you please really improve the performance instead of adding eye candy and flashy planes..

I don’t think that the problem necessarily lies with the simulator.
I was surprised to see how badly your CPU compares to my much cheaper Intel CPU though.

Your resolution and settings are far too low for your machine. Your CPU is much much weaker than your GPU but you’re putting the entire burden on it.

In FS2020 lower quality settings does not mean better performance.

Yeah, you need to bump up that resolution to 2k or 1080p, preferably 2k…
As stated, that low res isn’t helping…give that 3080 something to do..

May I enquire as to why you are running on this resolution?

Oh yeah, this is one of those user-error problems, not sim.

It will run 30fps even with 10x20 resolution. You’re CPU bound, not GPU bound.

It’s says right there.

That aircraft has major performance issues - I won’t use it to do performance benchmarks.

I have a 12900K and 3080Ti and the A310 is by far the worst on performance and really takes away the good experience I have in the sim with other aircraft.

Userbenchmark is never the best site to use for any comparisons, they are heavily biased towards Intel and Nvidia. Plenty of YouTubers have reported on it, including Gamers Nexus.

For some setups, I don’t doubt it. I’m having no problems maintaining a smooth 40fps however, in the enhanced version of this aircraft, even at EGLL and FSLTL.

So… Do I understand this correctly…? If it says “limited by mainthread” the gpu has too little to do? And one should give it more to do? And that way the sim would run better? Which would be the best items to give gpu more challenge?

I know I do not have the hard data to back it up but I would have to disagree that this only runs bad on some setups. I am willing to bet that a lot of users are just willing to accept lower fps or lower graphic settings.

My question to you would be how does your performance compare in the same scenario you describe for other payware airliners if you own them?

I’ve got Fenix and PMDG 738, pretty much the same except on a return leg due to the dreaded AI bug. I’m running a 5800X3D for reference.

In a sense yes, however it’s always going to report either Cpu limited or Gpu limited…that message will not disappear.
You might not gain frames but can increase the fidelity (remove blur, aliasing etc)

Fair enough. But something is up with this plane. This is my setup just loading into KLAX and not touching anything.

A310

That is strange. Well all the usual questions such as delete cookies and cache are ruled out. It’s unlikely to be a driver issue… but stranger things have happened.

Does it stay tanked once you switch on the electrics?

One odd thing I’ve just noticed, have you downclocked your VRAM or something? Why is it at 4880Mhz. I’m on a 3070 and MSI afterburner shows mine at 7001Mhz.

Ignore: my bad, it’s your CPU core clock.

Slight improvement

They mention in the release notes of the new beta rolled out today that a310 performance is addressed…
Let me see if i can find them…

***can’t find the notes, but came across a thread and it doesn’t sound like performance has been improved…
Nevermind

Even stranger. Noticed on this one, your GPU core clock has tanked to 780Mhz. Just try setting the driver profile to maximum performance and report back.
