While everyone’s on here voicing their opinion, I’ll go ahead and add mine into the pile. This sim is amazing in every way and its the sim I’ve dreamed of for years ever since Google Maps first came out. The reality is finally here and I couldn’t be more thrilled. I think this is an amazing release candidate and with support for the next 10 years the bugs will get taken care of. So far I’ve had 10 successful flights, no crashes, no issues of anykind. Scenery is amazing, I found the sweet spot on medium settings, you can get amazing performance on medium without much visual loss at all (RTX 2060). I love the ingame content section, what an amazing way to deliver addons, no more third party sites, and seperate installers. The features this sim launched with far surpass what has shipped with every other sim to date. My only regret is the amount of money I wasted buying addons on other sims. You can’t please everybody but I for one am pleased, and also thank you Microsoft for putting this on game pass, I didn’t have to pay a dime to enjoy this remarkable work of art.
Absolutley agree. its a breath of fresh air to have everything under one roof. I’m getting great performance with my 2070s and whilst everything in the garden isnt perfect, there isnt anything there that gives me a big problem. As a release candidate I think its great and whats best of all, is the market place will grow, the bugs will be squashed and tweaks made. Things will only get better and when your starting from a high starting point thats a wonderful place to be.
Spot on!!!
I fully agree!
It’s massively good though not perfect, the 10 year development commitment and the third party market place will advance it significantly though.
I agree what has been achieved is truly fantastic. Too many people are being negative yes I am sure a lot of things could be better. People have short memories I gave up on flight sims (p3d) for nearly a year just because of continual problems with one third party aircraft - which will remain nameless other than it started with an a and had a 3 digit number. We have a new platform that will hopefully continue to improve .
Once all the initial release “emotions” are gone, and more important bugs are solved, everyone will realize this is a gem.
All these years, wondering if we’ve ever had the next iteration of MSFS, I honestly could not have imagined a better next-gen engine & platform for flight simulation, ready and thought for 3rd party addons.
Once again congrats to MS & Asobo!
Fully agree this is what every simmer was dreaming off but though it would never happen. Yes there are some issues and things to be implemented (AI, new really working ATC etc).
Even performance wise it’s good. People must have forgotten the performance of FSX when it was first released. FS2020 with medicore setup (GTX1070) I can comfortably run at high settings.
My first impressions are absolutely positive. Reading some of the early opinions as I waited for the extended download to complete, I was left with a feeling of trepidation: Reports of slideshow framerates, constant crashing, etc, etc. i envisaged FS5.1 all over again. My experience has been flawless so far. Amazing graphics, smooth performance even in dense city environments. This is a remarkable achievement and brings simulator programs to a whole new level. The potential for future development is breathtaking.
I respect other opinins even they are really negative.
But I feel absolutly good about FS2020.
My cockpit is an HP Omen Laptop i7 8750h, 32gb, gtx1070 8gb. The sim runs very smooth all settings set to high. I only set FXAA because AA is always a framekiller for me. I didnt have any crashes so far.
The default planes perform like I expected with a solid realistic feeling (btw very similar to Xplane, the TBM930 flies similar to the Hotstart TBM900 wich is supposed to be very accurate) and enough system depth to do most VFR and IFR. I dont fly the airliners because I understand they are not studylevel, because they are just to complex. I will wait for the PMDG 737 and the Aerosoft CRJ.
I know the sim has still some major bugs/issues but nothing really that breaks the game for me. With more updates and addons coming out it will be a great simulator for years to come.
I especially like the weather and all the light effects. Never had that in Xplane or FSX even I invested a lot of time and money…still waiting for that Xenviro1.14 lol
Looking forward to meet all of you in the sim.
Enjoy the ride!
Totally agree. So far im very happy it. I have had no problems at all.
You didn’t have to pay a dime? Lucky you, gamepass costs £10.99 a month here in Britain.
Not if you buy a brazilian code, switch region and redeem it
I meant full retail price, yes you stillpay monthly for gamepass
It’s great. I just need to replace my GTX 1060 6Gb in order to fully experience the brilliant graphics.
There’s a lot of people who probably weren’t born when the 1st iteration came out in 1982. I remember it well and played every version since.
It amazes me how picky a lot of people are today.
I’m sure msfs 2020 will only get better.
I’m flabbergasted. I came on this forum expecting to see quite a lot of positivity, as it is an excellent product, something that really made me go wow (after the install problems). Instead, I have come across a whole bunch of people moaning, some of which may be relevant but quite a lot seems to simply be for moaning sake. I for one would like to congratulate those who were responsible for bringing out such a fantastic game that can be enjoyed by novices and professionals alike.
Just flew a few practice ILS approaches in the C172 at my local airfield and it was just very immersive and very satisfying all round, just changing weather and conditions on the fly. Like the fact I can do a pre-flight inspection and walk around the airfield if I feel like it.
I think its important to note that people are more likely to post if they have problems with the sim or are angry. There are not many positive posts because those people are too busy flying.
A post was split to a new topic: TBM Thrust Reverse Mapping Help
Agree 100% with the OP.
welcome to the future of flight simming…and to think - this is the base product - that means there is literally a plethora of improvements to come over the next few years. So much to look forward to.
