I wonder if anyone can help my latest issue with the sim. I’ve started experiencing CTD whenever I try and load in a flight from McCarran airport in Las Vegas. It’ll get halfway through loading and then CTD. I also get this from any airport in Las Vegas. It seems odd as nothing has changed and it was working well up until last night. I can load in any other airport anywhere in the world and start a flight just fine.
I also have an issue with extreme stuttering whenever I fly over certain points in some of my favourite areas to fly. For example flying just North of Miramar will induce extreme stutters in an otherwise smooth flight and curiously as will a certain point entering the Mach Loop in Wales. No matter what I do I always get extreme stutters for a good 20 - 30 seconds or so.
I never have my sim cache turned on. My question really is does the sim ‘remember’ having issues somehow and once a bug gets introduced into the system somewhere it continues to either cause stutters in an area it once had a problem with or even trip something somewhere as is the case with my new Las Vegas loading problem.
Is there another cache somewhere I can delete that will hopefully clear things and solve my problem? Thanks for any help.
No the sim doesn’t remember having issues.
Any addons in your Community folder?
Any MS Store purchases?
You could look into this though, it may have some effect
Deleting the Shader Cache
Go to your NVIDIA control panel> Manage 3D Settings, turn off Shader Cache and hit Apply.
Reboot your PC.
Go to %username%\AppData\Local\Temp\NVIDIA Corporation\NV_Cache and delete the contents of the folder (You can paste that address directly into a Windows address bar).
I have just posted this elsewhere but it could equally apply.
“Sounds like there could be conflicting scenery mods particularly if both cover or partly cover the same area. If you disable or delete one be sure to refresh your rolling cache inbetween tries. There is also a fair chance that reversing the install order might fix it.”
Basically Asobo code is made possible to be overwritten but a lot of 3rd party stuff isn’t and when another mod tries to then bam! Although it’s less likely even marketplace mods can be affected, not least because devs can’t really test against more recent mods until after they’ve been published.
