A "TOGGLE" for binding the Pause feature would be better

I know under the control settings for keyboard that you can manually bind a key for PAUSE which is great. However I find it annoying that it’s not a TOGGLE, instead you have to create 2 separate binds. One to PAUSE the sim and the 2nd to UNPAUSE. Why did they have to make it complicated like this? Just leave it how it was in FSX/P3D. A simple keypress to toggle it on and off by just tapping the P key would make a lot more sense. I hope they fix this and change it to TOGGLE instead.

There are assignable toggles for both “active pause”, and the full pause.

They’re both listed under “menu” in button assignments. Just make sure you have the filter set to “all”.

Agreed. Why waste precious button resources on 2 buttons instead of 1. It feels like some parts of the new sim were designed by someone who’d never used FSX before.

I don’t trust those other pauses. Some things still update, and can screw things up.

The active pause, yes, that’s definitely a problem. On that we agree.

I am referring specifically to the regular pause. It should be a toggle instead. I don’t like how you have to assign 2 buttons just to pause and unpause the sim. Seems a bit unintuitive to me.

In my setup, I have to hit the PAUSE key to toggle on and off the active pause feature. No two keys.

Ahh, yes, just tried it myself. I see what’s going on. I always assumed it was the same pause that takes you to the menus, but what they say about making assumptions and all that.

Yeah, the way it’s set up isn’t optimal. I agree.

There’s a third type of pause available apparently, that freezes everything, unlike active pause, but there’s no toggle for it. That’s what these guys are bringing up.

Ah! Okay, now I understand. To me, the active pause seems to meet every possible criteria.

I am not talking about ACTIVE PAUSE. These are 2 different things.

I just realized that. it’s confusing as heck, some of these concepts/options in this game, especially for a newcomer like myself.

It is called Set Pause (that freezes everything in the sim and does not bring up the menu). It has only On and Off. I would love a Toggle option - it would make pausing perfect.
