A version for 16 GB ram HDD users?

The ideal test environment for FS seems to be the approach into Paris Charles de Gaule. No matter what i do there are hickups, freezes (up to 2 or 3 seconds) and stutters. When everything is loaded the frames are fine. Other major cities also have their issues or me rather. Do we really need these overly detailed airports? How often do you explore these airports with the drone cam? Once? In rare cases twice? I think most players want a smooth approach, especially airliner pilots when closing in on airports such as de Gaule. Coming from Europe myself Paris is a place that cannot be avoided for performance reasons, it’s too important a hub to be ignored. All we need is basically a correct facade of the gate areas, we don’t actually need highly detailed backyards and what not. So a VFR and IFR option (checkbox) could be implemented next to the fly now button. This requires a new airport model and maybe even city model to be integrated into FS for all of the major airports in the world. Since the number is limited right now it would be smart to make those changes now before the workload gets even higher. I think many players agree that sometimes less is more.

I agree that handcrafted airports should be optimised I’m from Paris but I never take off from there because of the frames. But what are your full specs and settings

eeeeehm sry,

your question looks to me as last year requirements of times as MSFS started somehow exists. Do you remember how MS/Asobo selected people for testing purposes? They preferred 2080 users what makes panic to users they want have be in test group buying 2080 cards and 32 GB RAM  What to say to that  Pls try now understand my answer due your Topic name/requirement

You know what I think I agree op, this is a good point, I ignore most major airports due to the frame dip, so an option for specifically less detailed major airports or even specifically less detailed major cities without affecting other areas would be a welcome one.

Hmm, “make quality low so people that use technology that was obsolete years ago and really cheap to upgrade can maybe have better performance instead of lowering settings?”.

I’m not seeing it.

I7 6700, GTX 1660 Ti, 1 TB HDD (Windows 10 on 500 MB SSD), 16 GB ram. All ingame settings on medium except shadow maps (2048) for better cockpit shadows. I know ASOBO are from France, so i also know it would be heartbreaking for them to tear down de Gaule but i think they know they overshot their goal to make a pretty airport lol. In 5-6 years from now the majority of players will have a system that can run the current version smoothly. If people have to make the decision to either buy both new consoles plus a couple of games or just one GTX 3080 we know who wins i guess.

Op just means as an option not forcing everyone to lower the major airports.

You can’t make a game worse than the state of the art makes it possible just because some players are not ready to invest in new hardware. If this were the case, FS2020 would soon be at the same level as the old competitor simulators.

I don’t remember Microsoft saying that FS is an exclusive hobby for rich people. Even people with high end systems complain about performance issues. All i am asking for is an optional IFR mode with downgraded airports and cites (not beyond recognition). Our systems can handle the rest of the world just fine, it’s all about the huge amounts of data these airports and some cities consume that spoil the fun. If we are to invest money in highly detailed addon aircraft we better have reserves. The sim should only use 80-85% of our system’s performance to leave enough room for addon aircraft.

If you have always been FS from Microsoft then you also know that it was the same with other Sims, who came on the market but the software that was necessary to be able to use the whole thing with high-end settings mostly came in the course of up to 2 years later. That’s just how it is and always has been. If you want things to go better, take your settings down, I’ll do that because I’m by no means rich! But I know if I upgrade I can use the better one immediately!
