The aircraft manufacturer is “A1R Design Bureau,” not, “Ryan.” Annoys me to no end. At least we can easily change this in addons from third party stores. Can’t do that with encrypted marketplace purchases.

There is an “author” entry in the cfg, isn’t it (out of memory right now)? If yes then they either paid not much attention or didn’t care…I guess.
I’ll need to check, I don’t make a ton of marketplace purchases these days, and work ain’t over yet. A lot of devs use it as a way to skirt around calling it what it is and avoiding a lawsuit. Doesn’t mean I like it.
Yes, there is a ui_author field, but they also assign their author name to the ui_manufacturer field. That’s why you see their company name twice.
There are many reasons authors do this. One is they didn’t bother to ask for the right to use the actual manufacturer’s name. Some manufacturers, like Gulfstream and Grumman, won’t allow their name to be used. Another is they like the idea of advertising their name. Another is, maybe they don’t know any better… I dunno.
They could also do it so that all their aircraft are grouped together in the aircraft selection menu
Oh, aren’t they? When I looked at the plane, I thought all the variants were under the 1 choice? That I like if what I remember is true.

Yes, that, too… But I definitely don’t have any need for that. You can filter by author, or at least we should be able too.
I think he means multiple addons by the same dev would all be next to each other in the list.

Picked this up today and had my first flight. It’s very nice and will suit me just fine.
