A2A Aerostar 600

Hello,
I noticed that I’m flying. With the autopilot on, the aircraft maintains a strange attitude to the left.
Am I doing something wrong and how can I fix it?
Thanks

Rudder trim?

Probably not unique to this model, but check your Aileron trim, just a click or two.

So I picked this up the other day and I cannot get the right engine to start…. I follow all the procedures, but the starter only cranks and won’t start the engine…. I have no problems starting the left engine, but the right one will not start at all. I have to resort to “auto-start” on the tablet.
Is anyone having this issue?

i’ve had this issue before.

I started learning this plane properly yesterday and had various problems with starting engines. Sometimes it was left engine that could not start, sometimes it was right one. Then I started following these steps and now they start without any issues. I didn’t understand how priming works in this plane, it was much easier in Comanche 250 where you do it with a primer lever.

  • Fuel ON
  • Boost Pumps - ON
  • Throttles - OPEN ~½ travel (not ½")
  • Mixture RICH for 4 seconds and note fuel flow. I do them individually because my hardware assignment is too slow for this.
  • Throttles back to ~1"-ish open…which for me ends up a higher than normal idle, that I tolerate briefly due to having only a single throttle
  • Mixtures both CUTOFF and Start each engine, moving Mixtures to full rich as soon as they fire…it may turn longer than you think it should, but it will start… 8)

This is a quote from A2A forum, I will only add that it takes 5-10 seconds of cranking before engines start firing up. You also need to watch battery charge because it drains very quickly.

Yes, I have read and tried this on numerous occasions, and the right engine will not start.

Same here. As I recall, this was an issue during late early access. Could a regression have appeared?

Do you have a rogue control binding somewhere that might be interfering?

It’s always been a finicky starter for me, too, but I usually get it after a couple tries. And I have to say, it’s not all that far off from starting certain engines in certain conditions IRL. Sometimes you have to run the gamut to get the thing to start without flooding it or draining the battery. Always a bit frustrating (especially in front of an audience, haha), but kind of adds to the realism.

Balky engines, stuff I don’t miss from my IRL GA time LOL!

Sometimes I’ll just randomly move both the throttle and mixture levers around until it “catches”.

This is a RW video from A2A on the difficulty of starting the engines. Go to about the 1:10 mark:

I often laugh at how easy engines are to start in many in-sim aircraft. The A2A ones (and to a lesser extent, the BlackSquare) are the only ones as frustrating as real life.

The Cows DA40-vI is hard sometimes with the assists off. Too at least with nothing but Xbox pad and a mouse.

The old 2020 BKSQ Baron was particularly difficult. I once cancelled my IFR clearance on VATSIM because I couldn’t start the engines. Embarrassing!

Oh trust me I know…. 6 prime pumps to get my 172 started this morning IRL…. Ahhhhh. But it turned out to be a great flying day…

having trouble getting my HSI to work. it’s not spinning or syncing with the compass. i looked in the manual and couldn’t find anything about it. also couldn’t figure out how the DG Slave feature works.

in addition the temp is dropping in the cabin as I gain altitude, even thought I’m pretty sure I have max heat on

Ensure you have the heater and heater fan switches on. They are located with the gang of white rocker switches on the left.
