Isn’t it a problem assigning buttons to trim? I have this on my Hotas One and one press seems to add or remove too much trim. Is there a way to adjust the amount of trim per button press? I haven’t found it.
Today I worked on my spin skills and during pull at recovery I noticed those sunshades coming down as Gs build up. Thats an A2A quality of simulation guys
Thanks - giving this a try & will report back
Hi Andy,
If you bring up the tablet in the cockpit, go to the ‘controls’ page and click ‘advanced options’ at the bottom, you’ll see a slider for ‘elevator trim speed’. This will change the trim rate when using buttons.
In the main controls page, there’s also an option for ‘trim acceleration’ which you can deselect too if you wish. If you do, this will prevent the trim response from speeding up after a few seconds.
Thanks,
Nick - A2A Simulations
I used AuthentiKit and vJoy to control my Bravo trim wheel, and it worked well.
I’ve since switched to a SPAD mapping that allows me to do it much more easily.
For those who use SPAD it’s a SIMCONNECT data variable called ‘Elevator Trim Position’
That variable is in radians, so it’s easy to assign the two Bravo buttons (22, 23) to decrement and increment each ‘button press’ (wheel rotation) a specific amount in radians.
I usually have mine set anywhere between .002 and .005, depending on the aircraft.
Works beautifully.
What is the best setting for turbulence? My sim setting is ‘Realistic’ but I think I read somewhere that it’s better to turn that down and use the settings in the A2A tablet instead.
A2A coded the turbulence inside the tablet with the sim setting set to “Realistic”. But they admitted later on that “Realistic” might be too extreme in the sim with the Commanche for some people, so a “medium” setting in the sim is recommended with the tablet slider left at default (middle).
Thanks, that’s helpful. I’ve noticed it lurching about especially when coming into land at Darwin, NT. It could have been a sim stutter I think it was just too much turbulence.
I’ve set it to medium since week 1 of flying the Commanche.
The generic issue here is we tend to fly in the sim in weather conditions where you would never in real life take a light plane up.
At my local airport when the wind is off the mountains the turbulence is teeth shattering and unpleasant, approaching dangerous, generally only larger commercial aircraft fly on days like that.
Thought to share : Please Change the Subject title ( if possible ???) to the most recent Subject Line —-for the A2A Comanche “ from —- on its way” to ; for example — Discussions Specific to the A2A Simulations MSFS 2020 Comanche. Include the model ( type) . It’s no longer on its’ way . It’s been available since last year. Very appreciated if considered … I just wanted to say regardless of my comment. Thank you for creating the Subject title. &. . I love A2A and the developers for putting extreme effort and time they allocated in making this bird ( Including the “Official” YouTube channel for the MSFS 2020 Comanche—- Beyond expectations. They did set the guidelines for other creators . My Colleagues and I do see the difference in the quality / realism with a few other birds in the marketplace ever since A2A Simulations released the Comanche. Wow. Anyway …. because of what A2A did — Other creators of multiple types of commercial and GA planes —- we believe—- are more aware of others needs are now. The A2A Simulations Comanche was worth the investment, For sure
Note my colleagues & I did acquire the product direct from A2A Simulations. I only wish ( which this thought should be under another subject) that MSFS 2020 Market Place developers may consider applying a filter for the number of voters who vote for an example; rate a product as a 4.0 Star—- by the number of customers who Rate a product like the A2A Comanche —-> from the highest number to the lowest number of investors . What the thought is from us —— is —-just because a product has a 4.0 rating it’s not a true survey if only 3-5 people rated a Market Place product as 4.0 . However if we see that a 100 buyers of the Comanche rated it as 4.0 that is more convincing. But if only 5 people rated it as a 4.0 Star well that is questionable. MSFS should force others to Rate a product or persist a Rating until the buyer replies every time they access MSFS 2020. But how would MSFS persist a rating if someone like my colleagues and I
acquire a bird like the Comanche direct from the creator’s website. How??? . Anyway …note that … we only acquire 4.0 rated products from the Marketplace if purchased from there . But the rating system should include a filter —-to—for the number of people ( amount of people) who rate a product as well. We being my friends and I are more apt to acquire a product that shows not only a 4.0 Rating but the Market place should allow us to filter out low opinions against high opinions of all products and types despite its rating. Just because 5 people rate product being a 4.0 doesn’t make a product a 4.0 for example —- like with some airports and other products. But without a doubt the A2A Comanche is definitely at this time a 4.0 in comparison to other GA birds. Additionally , MSFS 2020 should have a way to detect when a product is integrated into it when a product is acquired direct from the creator or resellers website so after it’s installed and after so many days of Flying the bird MSFS should force the user to share what the buyer’s rating is so the Rating is included in the MSFS 2020/ & future Msfs 2024 Market Place. Just a crazy idea to implement. Will this happen. We will never know. … ummmmm. The product Rating programming Code —haphazardly mentioned / spoke of — should be placed in the Content Manager in MSFS 2020 or in the “Hanger “ to detect when a product is installed regardless of where the product was acquired to enforce a Rating .so buyers can make a valid determination based on Ratings and a filter to allow us to filter both the Rating and actual number of people who rate a product . So if we are searching for all 4.0 products in the Market Place regardless if it’s airports, planes and more we would have a filter to choose 4.0 rating , like is available in the Market place currently. But there should be a filter for all products for us to select the number of people who rated a product as 4.0 or less than 4.0. I do know many people don’t rate a product but at least this will help us decide. Well, enforcing a rating after use of a product Will definitely ensure a closer to true rating too. Ummm. The A2A Comanche We believe would had a lot of votes regardless of where it was acquired . we acquired it like I said earlier from A2A. But unfortunately, the marketplace doesn’t see our rating . It’s only Really noted through comments in A2A forum . So our rating is Not included in the marketplace. Which I think it’s unfair for that particular product. There needs to be a way For that to be included in the marketplace ratings. I’m sure it can be done. I think whoever is reading this gets the gist of it of what we my colleagues thoughts were 2 years ago —ages ago —- when the rating system was implemented into the Market Place . We discussed what was missing at one time. and I am trying to explain the shared thought especially for the benefit of a product like A2A Simulation’s Comanche . … anyway, have a good night.
Greetings,
I rate the A2A Comanche 250 very high and, like yourself, I purchased directly from A2A.
As far as ratings go, I’m suffering rating/survey fatigue. Recently while purchasing a bottle of water, I was faced with a star rating survey on the eftpos machine… is this really necessary? I think not. If there was a rating persistence message for every product I own in MSFS market place, I would just rate 1 star in protest of being forced submit a vote.
Personally, I make an informed purchase decision based on online reviews and video demonstrations. What I would advocate is a feature in marketplace that allows an i install with refund in 24 hours for product not meeting expectations like android store and others do. Voting with my money speaks loudr than any star rating in my opinion.
Cheers from Mick,
Yes, my friend and I do the same thing, but it would be easier or a little easier if they include a filter for the actual number of people who voted good or bad. regardless of the ratings. If you can relate like shopping for a car, it’s very difficult and time-consuming to find out what the actual ratings are. For example Using the “consumer guide” does help But we believe that MSFS 2020 developer’s have the power to include that in their programming. I did in my day while in college, take a special course On surveying opinions. The Amount of people that we got information from would determine a Closer/true opinion of whatever We Were surveying. But anyway… It’s getting late here in my world. I figured I just share “”that I haven’t been sharing much of my/ thoughts and friends thoughts in the MSFS community for a while in the MSFS 2020 forum “” —- for a while—- quite a while — but I just wanted to say that the Comanche is a great product. We just as a private in house network fly like not real pilots . Laugh out loud we just like having fun. We do get serious at times within sort of our private network.
Oh forgot to say have a good evening and cheers to you too. Are you from the UK not too many people here in this world I’m in say cheers. Thanks for the reply. None of us have ever refunded a product anyway. Me myself and I LAUUGH (hahaha ) OUT LOUD — not speaking for my friends —- once I purchase something I keep it just to say I have it. Especially when Microsoft Flight simulator 2020 was first available. We I can say for my friends — acquired pretty much a lot of the products— MSFS had in the Market Place —but now —- it’s so convoluted. There are so many different opportunities. Too much to choose from including third-party products. No way are we and I can keep up—- Anyway——-Wow —- it’s a huge selection now in comparison to almost 4 years ago. Like you we kind of are doing more research before we invest. I personally regardless of my MSFS in house companions purchase based on research too. But the Comanche — all of us agree . It’s the GA BIRD at this time the choice . We all do have in common only GA and regardless on what is in our Hangar prefer 98.9888 minus Steve Lol he is the minus . 12222 . But we always fly a GA as a group or well sometimes as individuals on line and alone . Anyway thank you for the reply in a big way. Cheers to you again too.
Officially for real this time — good night and slleep tight. Hahaha. Oh unless you are hours ahead of my time here in the USA.
A combination of this and the top 10 thread, Ariana2022UK in another topic, a birthday a couple of days ago, the weather (telling myself it’s a bit too cold here today for a motorbike ride) etc. etc. amounted to a new arrival at EGBO this morning.
Wow!!
Yes yes yes!
Let us know what you think!
Okay, you and everybody else were right (as if you were in any doubt).
Even though there’s been a plethora of praise for this, it’s not hyperbole. I really didn’t think it would be such a step above other extremely good addons, in terms of it feeling ‘real’. As I’m typing this I can still hear the engine cooling down and I’ve got a massive smile on my face.
I could write more, but I’ve now got to get it from the Midlands to the south of France to pick up a mini tour I was doing down there. Why do I have to work next week?
Yeah, it’s spesh! Enjoy the flights!! ![]()
That’s fantastic news ![]()
Very cool! I’m using it in Neofly atm. I’ve saved up enough money to “upgrade” to a Caravan but I keep putting it off because I just love flying this thing so much!
