A2A Comanche 250 is on its way! (Released! July 2023)

This looks to be a great bit of kit but I am struggling to get it to come alive. It is visible in the cockpit with v1.3 and I have updated to the latest version of the Comanche. All knobs and dials seem to work but I cannot get the unit powered. Might anyone have any ideas?

It’s a right click on the power/brightness knob at top right to push on. Then it takes a few seconds to warm up.

Also, please note the comment above removing about the optional PMS WTT package if you have it installed.

Thanks,

I can’t get it visable in the cockpit. I downloaded the latest Comanche and the 1.3 version of the KLN and got rid of “pms50-gtn750wtt-aircraft-a2a-pa24”.

Any suggestions?

Got it. There was a A2A folder left behind … did a “Clean” install

Will this also be implemented in xbox?

I believe the KLN developer would like to make it available via the Marketplace, but at present free packages aren’t allowed. However, who knows, maybe there will be a way to make it available to Xbox users in future.

I’d recommend you ask on the KLN dev’s Discord server.

Thanks Nick, the suggestion worked a charm albeit I had to use the middle button on my mouse.

Over the moon with this GPS unit! It has a real feeling of age and quirkyness which I really like. Once you understand the mechanics of how it works it really delivers and looks fantastic as well. Now that this unit is integrated within by far the best GA aircraft in the sim, what’s not to like?

How do you get the KLN? I have it installed and it doesn’t show up, content manager shows the PA as up to date, yet no choice of the gps

If it’s properly installed you should be able to select it from the tablet. It will show as an additional option along with the GNS 530, 430, GTN 750 etc.

Well, my version is 1.4.8 (up to date according to marketplace) and it was added in 1.6.1, I have a guess who’s fault this is and it’s not a2a :stuck_out_tongue:

The moral of the story being don’t buy aircraft from the Marketplace. The con’s just far outweigh the pro’s.

Yeah, we were hoping that v1.6.1 of the Comanche would make it out with yesterday’s Marketplace third-party update, but looks like we weren’t far enough ahead in the queue. Everything is signed-off with Microsoft though, so with any luck it’ll be with you next Thurs. :crossed_fingers:

They are doing Monday updates to marketplace as well so you might see it sooner.

Exactly. You don’t have to wait weeks for an update and files are not encrypted.

Some companies will let you transfer addons bought on MP to their own store. I did it with inibuilds airports.

Just bought it on sale via the marketplace, a really good deal with regional pricing.

Love how alive the plane feels on the ground and all the detailed simulated elements.

It’s very pleasant to fly but I honestly don’t notice a huge difference between this and most of the better planes using the MSFS native modelling (Blacksquare Dukes being a good example). Trimming is easier and the plane just seems to stay where it’s put which is nice (almost on rails dare I say  ). Then again I’m not a real pilot and can’t comment on realism.

It’s very heavy in pitch though and I feel like I’m muscling it around in the flare, especially with the honeycomb Alpha with its firm springs. Need some more practice I think.

Only other gripe I have is how quiet the exterior engine sounds are, they’re just so tinny and far away compared to the lovely cacophony in the cockpit. Is this just the case with the plane or is something odd going on (my exterior sound are set to max in MSFS)

Good news that 1.6.1 released today on Market Place. (Monday June 10th)

Version 1.6.1 on Xbox X. Having trouble with installing the Pitot Cover externally after the flight. I can remove it ok and install it using the tablet but not by clicking on it.

Hovering over the cover the tool tip says to left click on it to remove it and that works ok.

Hovering over the pitot tube to install it just says left hold to lock

Holding the left mouse button gives these tool tips indicating left click to apply the cover but you have to hold the left mouse button to get this option so no way to click it.

I tried every combination of left, middle, right hold and clicks and also moved my view point but couldn’t find a solution other than with the tablet command.

You’re supposed to put the headset on when in the cockpit (bottom left) so they may have tweaked the outside sounds to better match with interior when headset is on. It’s very noisy in the cabin without them on, especially wind noise.

Thanks for a indirect notification about the awaited update, just went on to update and check the KLN and also your pitot issue, however for me on PC it’s flawless, single click on the tube makes it covered, spamming LMB also removes-applies as long as I click, maybe you need a reinstall cuz something broke during the update?

Really? Where does it say that?
I love to hear the engine. And the wind!

exactly, headsets are for losers  , I like to crank the vents open as well for maximum wind hissing.

Really wish it the exterior sounds matched,

Just to be clear because some people get confused on this, there are THREE levels of sound reduction in the Comanche:

  1. Install the sound proofing option in the EFB/Tablet
  2. Plug in the headset by clicking on the jacks
  3. Switch on the headsets electronic noise reduction by clicking on the switch on the headset cable

With all three things enabled the cockpit is virtually silent.
