A2A Comanche 250 is on its way! (Released! July 2023)

I love that A2A modeled a mechanical rotating beacon and I can sit here with it on and listen to its little motor whirring as I’m preparing to start the engine.

Sublime!

Well, I deleted and re-installed the aircraft again, and now the HSI works with the GPS. Thanks for trying to help me again! I appreciate it!

In 24 the ADF knob seems really weird to operate. I can’t find a reliable spot to set the single digits.

Just like in the real plane!

I just wanted to ask if its the latest version on the MSFS marketplace? I do own the plane via your A2A store (trying to support you direct), but have never been able to update the plane, without the hassle of uninstalling, then digging around in my account (remembering password), and have to re download. I am tempted to just buy it via the MS marketplace, and by pass this process.

This hotfix isn’t in the latest version. You need to apply it on top of the latest version (simply drag an drop into your Community folder).

Did you try the Comanche update-app?

Running PC. If you mean the one from the program app from the start menu, it never worked. Always came up with a error message and never updated.

Hello,

If you’ve been having problems using the Comanche updater for MSFS 2020, I’d hazard a guess it’s because you installed the sim using the Windows Xbox app to a drive other than your system drive.

This will result in a very long file path for the community beginning with something like "D:\WpSystem" and the total path length will actually exceed the Windows limit for some of the files and folders in the Comanche installation. The Xbox app also take over user permissions for files in this location, which is what seems to be stopping the updater from doing its job.

If this is the case, what I’d recommend is changing the location of the community folder so that it’s more accessible. This doesn’t require reinstalling any content, and I can provide more info if needed.

The decision to buy direct is appreciated, and I’d hate to think you (or anyone else) felt you needed to repurchase, just to get access to updates.

Thanks,
Nick - A2A Simulations

P.S. To answer your question though, the version on the Marketplace is up-to-date, although it doesn’t include the beta hotfix for MSFS 20204 posted on our forum.

Funny. I just landed at KSNS – Salinas, CA – and was doing my post-flight walkaround and happened to notice this and thought it apropos.

The Comanche is like it’s own individual flight sim to itself, just borrowing MSFS as an add-on pack for it.

I added the gtn750 hotfix, seemed to go ok but when I go to flight plan I cannot enter the departure airport. Enter button is greyed out. Is it me ?

Hi all!

We’ve now added a couple more items to the hotfix.

  • Fix for radio frequencies and some other gauge settings not being persistent between flights.
  • Fix for strobe light on port wingtip being lit permanently if tip tanks are not fitted.

The download link has been updated in the pinned topic on our forum.

I have a question that may have been answered earlier.

I would like to use the PA24 in MSFS2024, but I don’t want to remove it from MSFS 2020 since I still fly that sim as well. Can I use the aircraft in both sims or do I have to uninstall it from 2020 and do a fresh install into 2024?

I bought the aircraft from the A2A website rather than the Marketplace.

I just copied it from my 2020 com. folder and put it in my 2024 com. folder …that way you should be able to use it in both.
…just check any updates are done to both if applicable!

Yes, you can certainly use the Comanche in both sims; for now our installation method for MSFS 2024 is a simple folder copy-and-paste. There’s more info in this topic on our forum, including how to migrate the saved state of the aircraft from MSFS 2020 to 2024.

How will the update come to us in 2024 if bought through the market place in 2020 if the market place is not up and running yet in 2024? Are they able to push updates in 2024 yet?

You are waiting on MP. This is one of the reasons for buying direct from the dev. Quick fixes and updates.

I see it streamed into 2024, haven’t flown it yet. Should I just folder bomb dump a copy ofit in community anyway? I did that with the Sierra and a few others and it seems no harm no foul. Actually quite notable those are never seen as ‘loading’ a texture when it’s installed in community, just bang-ready
