A310 Throttle Issue

Brief description of the issue:

When attempting the A310 landing challenge, during short final (at about 120Kts), the throttle suddenly goes to max and I cannot alter it with either my CH yoke or the keyboard keys (eg. F2, F3, etc.).

Each attempt, I get the same result.

PC specs and/or peripheral set up if relevant:

Not relevant. Everything else works fine with the sim, including my CH yoke.

I think this may be the aircraft stall protection system.

If it suspects a stall is imminent it apply a full power and you have to manually disconnect the autothrottle to regain control

Yeah, 120 kts is too slow for an airliner on final. Typically you’re more like 140 to 150 kts. If the landing challenge is telling you to slow to 120 kts, that’s probably an error. I’ve seen some of the suggested speeds on landing challenges to be less than accurate.

Try to target 145 kts on your next attempt.

Yeah when I used to fly the A310 I’m sure my planned vref used to be around 140

I wondered if the “system” was taking over. Interestingly, when you load the landing challenge, it shows that you should be at 100kts on short final!!! I thoiught that was a little slow.

Haha yeah, thats def not right. Hope that solves it for you. I remember the speed getting away from me once on final. The system took over, it does feel like its bugged, but essentially the system initiates a go around as far as throttle input goes
