[A319, A320, A321] Fenix High-Fidelity Aircraft

i cant get the weather radar to work. Can anyone help?

What happened to contrails and terrain radar…i do t have them anymore since the Fenix update…

Please scroll about five posts up. The terrain map is still there. Yes, contrails are gone. Fenix removed them for some reason.

Why removing the contrails? It looks unrealistic when there are none.

I only have the side stick for control, no pedals (no space for that) so only have the side stick Z axis for it

The sidestick axis to keep the Fenix on the runway is good enough.

In the air the rudder is automatically controlled by the mighty microprocessor controllers of the Fenix. Because it´s no bicycle - it´s an Airbus! no pedaling necessary.

Did something changed in the landing behavior after update 1.3 l? The planes slips off the runway very easily

No steering feels the same.

And these endless clicking sound some people have mentioned will be gone in the hotfix:

  • Fixed high pitched click every 4.5 seconds when AEVC is on

The strange thing is, I am spending real quality time with my Fenix and with all these YouTube tutorial videos… but I don´t know what "AEVC is, and what it does.

Ah:

“AEVC – Avionics Equipment Ventilation Computer”

But isn´t the avionics cooling always on and running?

Asobo could help, in the future, we hope…

Only a few months after the Half-Life³ release there will be a weather radar

Just wonders, if any change in the flight model file can make the light switches to full as before?

It’s what those of us with apparently more sensitive retinas were asking for, before the update, to reduce the brightness, but I’m afraid nobody came up with a workaround. Not that i saw at least.

I suspect that the only way around this would be for Fenix to allow pilots to set their preferred brightness settings and somehow be able to save them into the start-up state.

I’d really like to see the Sim Rate option increased from 2x to 4x.

Do you recall your caution message on the E/WD? Given the temperature of the #2 IDG, the oil temperature went above 185 C which will generate a “IDG 2 OIL OVERHEAT” ECAM message. The GCU - Generator Control Unit will sense this and cause the generator line contactor to open which drops the IDG offline. Did you have an IDG FAULT light on the switch on the overhead panel? That should have also been illuminated.

All of this could have been caused by low oil level for the IDG. As far as load is concerned, you can see that GEN1 has happily taken up the entire aircraft load and is operating within limits which is fine. There is no need to start the APU but you can - You will lose CAT 3 DUAL capability and the Galley will shed as shown in your E/WD if you do not start the APU. Electrical priority for the A320 is:

G - Generator
E - External Power
A - APU
R - RAT
B - Batteries

So Gen 1 is fine to carry the rest of the load. Starting the APU (if below 25,000’) would provide a safety net in case you lost engine 1.

Hotfix is available now

[SYSTEM]

  • Revised logic for ground spoiler retraction, ground spoilers now retract when thrust levers are at or above 20 degrees, facilitating safer post-bounce go-arounds.

  • Tuned Autoland

  • Fixed engine idle EWD and associated signals for APPR IDLE segments

  • Improved save reliability (this seems to still be dodgy, we’re working on it)

  • Added PLD support, phased lift dumping, to support partial spoiler extension in certain landing scenarios

  • Refined APPR IDLE dynamic N1 calculation with additional variables

[FM]

  • Added drag to Flap 2 and 3

  • Fixed landing gear drag

[ART&SOUND]

  • Removed blue highlights when mousing over items by default

  • Fixed random errant turbulence sounds

  • Fixed high pitched click every 4.5 seconds when AEVC is on

How we can get this hotfix? Like all updates by Fenix app ?

Yep. Either from the desktop Fenix app or from your account.

Thanks, I’m flying now with Fenix, but when I finished this flight I will download the Hotfix.

Downloading now, perfect.

Still no contrails though, I suppose. I’ll test it as soon as I finish my flight to KATL in 737. Not that I can’t live without it
