[A319, A320, A321] Fenix High-Fidelity Aircraft

This is really strange… in all these months not one real Airbus pilot ever showed up in this forum.
One might think that Fenix Airbus has caused some really high waves in the flight simming community, and there are various real YouTube Airbus pilots flying this bird, and on Discord too.

But here in this forum… no… no one here flies any Airbus.
Everything else - all Boeings even jets or classic planes flown by retired pilots in the seventies, but no one here is a real Airbus pilot

Strange indeed.

Had the same problem … in my case it was a vjoy-device I defined some time ago to improve the honeycomb trim wheel for GA flights. Now the honeycomb bravo was disconnected but the virtual trim axis still alive. I disabled the vjoy device and the problem was gone.

Maybe something similar on your side? Sounds like some sort of doublette regarding the mapped trim commands.

I’m sure there are real life pilots in here, they just don’t need to announce it

I don´t think so because otherwise some users would have mentioned details only real pilots can know that were not accurate on the Fenix when compared to a real Airbus 320.
We had no Fenix patch for four months or so, a lot of new stuff was added to the fine Fenix - real pilots would have noticed some minor differences to the real Airbus and missing features when it was relased in May but added days ago.

A lot of real pilots are here for sure - but I don´t think any Airbus pilot is here. Ore are some real Airbus pilots hidden inside this forum - Come out come out wherever you are

Did you set the weight up via the EFB and in the MCDU?
Might be worth checking your trim is set correct before you take off. Try a different runway?

Hope you sort it.

I definitely know there’s at least one on here, but he doesn’t really get involved, more of a spectator staying up to date with latest… given the user base, I’m sure there’s plenty of similar cases.

Why would any airbus pilot have to be here, the discord channel is where it’s at. This is just a secondary forum. Take it up on the discord, more chance to have issues solved.

Excellent - what channel is this? Maybe I will have a question no one else can answer related to the Fenix it´s systems or procedures so it´s nice to have that channel active

Love the new sounds with the exception of the outside! Inside though has improved a lot and is very very realistic. I have my own videos of Airbus with CGM engines and this is identical to reality.

For the latest version, I do have issue with ILS glideslope + autopilot, the A320 usually misses the glideslope, slightly below than vertical magenta mark during final approach, that causes the enignes increase throttle to compensate and try to catch the magenta mark again ( ~CLB behavior), this does not happen to me with other previous versions.

I watch some of Youtube videos and some other simmers did have the same issue like me, that force them to turn off autopilot sooner than they wish to stop throttle increase.

Could some of you please explain whether it is normal?

Why are all the instruments black even when you put the Battery and APU ON? You have to manually adjust them to bring them back to life. PMDG i737 s not like that.

This is how Fenix set the default cold&dark panel state. I don’t mind but I hope they bring panel state saving at some point.

I’m having the same problem. Flaps 3 introduces a lot of drag which makes autopilot drop the nose and fly below the GS, then trying to get back to the GS profile, losing speed and increasing throttles. Now approaches are more difficult, sometimes I also need to hand fly it earlier than planned. I’m sure they will finetune that.

Is this in the real world as well?

They are seen in the Fenix Discord where there’s greater interaction. The developers are also on Discord.

The discord is where 3rd party support and interaction take place. So it could be a personal preference.

The flavor and interaction of discussions is quite different between forums and discord.

When comparing the old first release Fenix with the newest Fenix I have found out that the turbines rotate faster than before to get the same thrust.
On my old ILS autoland screenshots I have 40-47% N1 (with a very lightweight Fenix only cargo no passengers), on the new YouTube videos the Fenix is flying with 50-60% N1 flaps max.

I got curious which is correct and consulted YouTube.
YouTube came up with this:
~50% N1 and severe camera focus problems, cannot read LCD screens most of the time:

42-46% N1 on final approach:

23% N1 idle while cruising around with zero flaps, 44% - 49% N1 while on final approach:

And the Fenix has 52% N1 with wind coming from the direction of the runway while doing the autoland:

Very good already very good! Maybe reduce drag with flaps max about 5% and it looks like on point with the YouTube approaches

I believe so.

They are working on this. If you visit their discord you will see that this is their focus right now.

FS L abs customer service has alot to be desired. Their first reaction when you complain about something is they tell you you are doing it wrong.
