In this day and age, there’s absolutely no reason devs can’t communicate AND do their job. That’s just an old myth that the quieter a dev is, the harder they’re working.
Each to there own. People just like to think they are entitled to hear something every week or maybe every month. In reality they are not.
There is a huge difference between thinking one is entitled to something and wishing that devs provided more frequent communication of what they are working on and possible timelines. People have spent thousands and thousands of pounds/dollars/euros/whatever on this sim and are really passionate about it an are incredibly invested in some products and just like to know what is going on. Doesn’t mean they think they are ‘entitled’.
Like I said people just like to think they are entitled to receive information, timelines even after being told they will not get. Same information could be put out every week/month what ever, some of these will still expect more. Developers work different ways.
Some of these people ask the same thing each day and to be honest its come to a point they just get ignored. Difference in my opinion is the same thinking they are entitled they are not. Dev’s can just be silent but this is not the case especially since Fenix staff are always active, in the grand scheme of things a £50/$50 aircraft is really not expensive and people just need to learn to read and just wait.
Don’t see many people asking about QualityWings for instance. You don’t see people badger FSLabs on the forum for an update because they will just get the same response.
I am really happy about the A321 because a 321 with IAE looks so sleek and slim and sharp, and many A321 freighters are in use so we will probably finally get a freighter!
From now on every day I might come home from shopping or wake up in the morning with the new Fenix V2 suddenly having already been surprise-released when going to my computer.
Glorious!
There is a problem, though…
I know perfectly well that it has only been announced, not released…
And I´m perfectly fine with it.
But…
I have already checked in the FenixSim launcher if it is already live, like 27 times… in the last half hour.
Well… it´s just human nature. (Or my damaged brains…)
Don´t bother checking the Fenix launcher every ten minutes - they tell you in the Fenix chat when it get´s released ![]()
Has there ever been an announcement about adding the Satcom antenna (the hump on top of the fuselage) to the exterior visual model in V2 as an option? Many airlines have it installed. PMDG also has it as an option for the 737.
Hey all, question or rather a problem with the EFB Departure Perf app. I’m sitting on the ground in TNCA and the runway selection box has no runways in it! Therefore I can’t calculate the numbers.
Two questions:
- Can I fix the runway selection myself (some file) or manual entry? Or who should I contact to report the bug?
- Is there a way to get the calculations I need regardless? Or if not, what the heck should I enter into the MCDU?
There are several free performance calculation tools available. Like this one for example: Performance Calculation for AIRBUS (pradz.de)
Or you can look for the Airbus manuals and performance tables.
Ah thank you, at least this will get me some numbers that should be close ![]()
As for the Airbus manuals and tables, I’d love to check them out if you have some links?
Good thing I used a calc too instead of just guessing on the numbers. Turns out to be a no flex takeoff ![]()
Sorry for the off topic, but Digital Flight Dynamics is already developing an excellent study level A350. I’m very hyped by this. See their development diaries in youtube. MASSIVE A350 Progress for MSFS! | Cockpit, Cabin, Systems BREAKDOWN! | Digital Flight Dynamics News! - YouTube
New blog post about the performance improvements:-
https://fenixsim.com/blog/entries/2023-08-05_v2_performance/
Hmm I see in the blog post charts they compare against V1 in CPU and GPU mode, but they don’t call out the mode in V2. Does that mean the option to switch between CPU and GPU mode is going to be removed?
I liked that we could set it, especially given the “auto” suggestion of CPU is actually worse for me, and I get a good 10fps better in GPU mode.
I hope they fixed the panel state loading. And maybe some automatic V speed fill-inn instead of clicking all kind of virtual apps (Yes I know that is the realistic way).
Are there many differences between the A320 and A319 or A321 when starting cold and dark? Or is the same workflow?
will the new v2 have remote CDU to export to tablet / phone?
Exactly the same… in the briefing you check the aircraft limitations/differences but in terms of flows and procedures is the same.

I’ve been using it for a few months and it works great. And it’s free ![]()
I use it on a touch screen connected to my PC, but it works through a browser so it should also work remotely.
